Summer, the time when I can get away from the judging eyes of kids! I didn't think I could make it through my first year of high school. Of course, I was the outcast, but I knew all the secrets and rumors. There were more rumors than in middle school! Especially about relationships. But enough about school, this summer I'm going to Again, in Sheeler. No one will give me weird stares or anything. I hope I can make some friends this summer. Anytime it's summer, we will go out of town to a new city for the next 3 months. Sometimes, if there is a job opening or my parents truly like it, we'll stay.

The moment we got through the border we were greeted by warm smiles and open arms. Everything seemed nice, nothing judgmental. As I looked out the car window, we rented, I read the minds of a couple of kids my age:
I'm so bored, hey someone new is coming into town. Wow, does that girl have white hair? Weird, twins too? Cool.
One of the boys thought. At least they're not insults.

We arrived at our rental house. The house was the size of two football fields put together! It was pure white, like my hair. When we went in, it was as beautiful as outside. There was a crystal chandelier hanging above our heads. All I could say was "Wow!" The staircase was huge and spiraled up to the second floor and probably further up. The house was already furnished with a Plasma Flat Screen TV with a beautiful oak dining table. The kitchen was flawless. Mum loved the kitchen the most. Since she was a chef. There were three rooms so I was suspecting I'd have to share with someone.

I went up the spiral staircase to the second-floor mum and dad took the biggest room with a view and the twins already chose separate rooms so I had to choose between Joshua and Emily. That's when I saw a ladder leading up to the basement. 'Meh, it's better than sleeping with Emily or Joshua' I thought to myself.

I climbed up the ladder and was amazed to find a beautiful room. The walls were black and had different colored lines. Purple, blue, green and red. Weird and they were each going in the same direction. There was a big bed with white sheets, a birch desk, and an oak tree bookshelf. I reached for a book on the bookshelf. It was titled 'The Four Keeper'.

I was about to read the blurb when the twins burst into my room. "Woah, this is a pretty cool room," Emily said. "Hey Perry, can we switch? You can have my room and I'll have yours" Joshua offered. "No thanks, I like this room and I'm keeping it" I replied. "That's fine with me." He replied but in his mind he was thinking 'Hmm, maybe tonight I can creep into her room and switch her room and mine. Yeah, that's what I'll do'. I knew what I had to do tonight.

I was working at the gas station when I saw a car come into town. In the car was a family of five. A mum and a dad, twins and a girl. The girl had pure white hair, which looked rather pretty. The twins looked exactly the same, except they were a different sex. The girl with white hair looked quite out of it but she looked beautiful when looking out in space.

I wondered what her name was but before I could walk over to them, Riley pulled me back. "Hey Cole, what are you doing after work?" She asked. Before I answered her, the girl's car was already leaving the gas station. "Nothing, actually..." I replied. "Maybe you can join me and Jack after work. We're going to 'Silenders'. The one near his school." Riley said. I looked over at Jack who was glaring at me then looked away. I knew Jack didn't like me, but how does Riley not see that. I guess she's just oblivious or something. "Sorry Riley, that just reminded me. I have to help the librarian at the public library." I said trying to make an excuse. I didn't want to upset Jack. It was pretty obvious that he had a thing for her. I didn't want to get in the way of Riley's love life. "Aw, it's ok. Me and Jack will just go" she replied. "Another time" I replied. Anyway, I actually did need to go to the library so I decided to go after work.

I got to the library and started to look for the book, 'The Four Keepers'. I looked everywhere for it, but nothing. Two hours had passed when I saw the girl again. She was reading a leather book with a faded title on the cover. There was no picture or author on the cover. I decided to walk up to her and introduce myself. "Hi, my name Cooooooooooo-" I was a mess. Her eyes glimmered like stars in the navy nights sky. She looked magnificent. I blushed and she looked focus onto my eyes to and suddenly blushed as well. "Well, it's nice to meet you, Cole. I'm Perry"  she replied. "How do you know my name?" I asked. Perry looked nervous and started to rub the back of her neck. "Um, at the gas station I saw you with your name tag and it said your name," She replied. That was pretty obvious, I mean I saw her too. "So what are you reading?" I asked curiously. "Oh um, it's a book I found at our holiday house. It's called 'The Four Keepers'" Perry told me. That was the book I was looking for. "You wanna read it with me?" She asked. This was the best moment of my life. My crush just asked if I want to read with her. "Sure," I said and we read the book from beginning to end.

So, what do you think? I really hope you liked it. 1006 words.

Emily: Brilliant L.C. Don't forget to save this chapter unlike 'Broken'. What happened there again?

Shut up, Emily. Anyway, this is Emily. Who is part of my self-consciousness. She's my sister.

Emily: You FINALLY introduced me. Good for you
