"I'm praying I have a good turn out at 'Aestheticz' tomorrow night, Tyler" I said to my twin brother over the phone. He called at the end of my shift, at the Logan Hotel in downtown Philly to ask if I needed help setting up for my party at my art gallery.

I've had 2 very successful parties so far, a good turn out and a amazing profit off of people buying art. But I always get nervous the closer it gets to opening night.

"Are you gonna DJ again?"

I smiled at the question, "You know I am"
Tyler knew she would DJ at all her events since she was in college.

"Then you gonna have a good turn out"

"I'm hoping so, and I hope they plan on spending some money"

"They shouldn't come if they not"

I had to laugh at that one, "Yeah I feel you on that bro"

"You off work yet?"

"Yeah I'm about to leave here now, so I can get home to finish up this painting-"

"Yo when you gone open up ya own hotel. I been waiting since we got out of college. It's been 2 years"

"Nigga be patient! I gotta make sure my money right first. Aestheticz pouring in money- I just made assistant general manager at Logan-  I should be right in a year or two at the most"

"I'm holding you to that sis- I gotta go pick up Zuri though, so Imma call you later and I'll pick that stuff up for you in the morning"

"Ard bet- thank you. Give my niece a kiss for me"

"I sure will. Love you"

"I love you too"

I finally got in my car to get home. I already knew I was going to be up late because I worked an extra hour and the painting was only half done.
Plus I needed to get up early to meet Johnny.

Johnny was an art dealer who from time to time would sell her some pieces she could sell in the gallery. He was an Italian boul, real smooth talking cat who didn't play about his money. I was always cool with that though because neither did I. That's why our two year business relationship had been going so well.

The roads are clear as I head home, so I got there in no time. I was dreading giving up my sleep but sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do.

I got into my building and for a second I thought about knocking on this chick named Aaliyah door just for some company. But every time I did that it would just make me miss my her. Aaliyah just didn't ever measure up. She was just a good time here and there. What I really wanted was the real thing, Skylar.

I smiled to myself thinking about her as always. Even after two years and barely any interaction- she still did the same thing to me.

Imma get her back one of these days. But until then, Imma just finish this painting- get an hour or two of sleep and get tomorrow finalized.

I really didn't want to be up and you could see it in my face. Johnny was about 15 minutes late and I didn't have any time to waste. I was on a tight schedule to get everything done for tonight.

Johnny finally pulled up outside the gallery and I couldn't help but give him the finger when he walked in with some art pieces.

He laughed, "Relax. I come bearing gifts."

"Better be good ones. I got two spots on my wall tonight"

Johnny looked around, "I see three"

"I finished a jawn last night"

"Let me see"

I moved to uncover the one placed up against the wall in the back

"You really got a talent, Tay"

I respected Johnny so much because he always commended me on my  art. He sometimes even bought a piece or two.

"Thank you. Let me see what you got"

They were beautiful.

"I'll take them both- whose the artist? You're gonna have start telling me where you find your art"

Johnny visibly became nervous and started to squeeze the back of his neck, but laughed it off,
"Naw man. I'm never giving up my sources. But it was nice doing business with you as usual."

I just shook my head. Taylor never knew why he got so nervous when she brought up where he got his art, she made a mental note to ask about it sometime in the near future.
"You too, Johnny"

March 8th. 7:00 pm

The party starts in a hour and there were already people outside waiting to get in. I couldn't contain my excitement.
All I wanted to do was open the doors and get the party started.
