Your earphones were blasting your favorite song as you walked down the busy streets of New York with a coffee in hand. It was like this everyday, busy people with busy lives. You shivered as the cool air hit your exposed skin under your sweatshirt. For some reason, the streets seemed to be a little more crowded than usual and there were lots of teenage girls. You raised your eyebrows as you passed a group of them, too bored to care what they were all excited about. Your looked down at your phone ready to change the song when you suddenly bumped into something hard. Your coffee went flying out of your hand as you fell straight onto your bum. "Shit," you silently cursed to yourself before looking up. Your eyes widened as they met a pair of blue ones that looked all too familiar. It was him. It was George, the guy who broke your heart two years ago. "Y/N?" he broke you out of your trance as his eyes widened as well. You quickly got up on your feet and grabbed your things that fell when you bumped into him. "Sorry, I've got to get going," you said avoiding eye contact with the boy who once had your heart. You began to walk away, hoping the swarm of people would swallow you with it. "Y/N, wait!" you heard as you shook your head. You made a promise to yourself two years ago that you would never fall for him again. He had left you heartbroken in order to chase his dream and you were stupid enough to think that you were part of his dream. But you weren't, and so he left you behind with everything you had planned together. You felt a hand on your shoulder and soon you were looking into the same blue eyes once again. "Yes?" you asked him blatantly trying to show no interest in him. His face looked kind of hurt making you feel sorry, but you shrugged it off. "I just- I haven't seen you in forever," he said while rubbing the back of his neck. "Yeah, it's been two years," you said reminding him that he was the one who left you. "Right, look, Y/N. You know I didn't have any other choice," he began. You shook your head at him and frowned. "No, George. You did. And I wasn't your choice, so goodbye," you said before walking off again leaving him standing there. You didn't need this again, you didn't need him. He ran up to catch up to you as you rolled your eyes and kept walking. "Y/N, please," he begged you while grabbing your arm. "What do you want from me, George? You happen to see me again here and what do you expect? Do you really expect me to suddenly crawl back into your arms after what you did to me? Is that really what you thought was gonna happen? Well it's not! You made a decision two years ago and I have been doing just fine here without you," you spat at him making people around you stare, but you could care less. You could feel tears rolling down your cheeks now as you looked away from him. "You can't just come back when I was finally doing okay without you," you whispered to him before breaking down. You felt him wrap his arms around you, but you were too weak to care anymore. You melted into him as your body shook with sobs. You had been holding everything in for so long, you forgot what it was like to break down. "I'm so sorry. God, I'm so sorry," George repeatedly whispered to you as he soothed your back. "Why did you leave me?" you cried into his chest. "I don't know, it was the stupidest thing I've ever done, Y/N. You don't know how much I regretted it and then you hated me and I didn't know what to do," he said with hurt clear in his voice. You shook your head and pulled back from him. "I could never hate you." He took your hand in his and made you look him in the eyes. "Please, Y/N. I know I broke your heart once, but can you please take a chance on me again? I know it's going to take time, and I'm happy to wait for you. I've grown and I've learned. I know this time things will be different, I'll be different. I haven't stopped loving you even after two years," George said making your heart hurt. You were crying again at this point, but you knew he meant every word he had said. Something was telling you that this time it would be different and that maybe it would work out. You decided to take a chance as you nodded at him and smiled. "One more chance," you said making his face light up. "One more chance is all I need," he said before taking your face in his hands and kissing you. As his lips met yours, everything felt as if it was falling back into place and you knew that it was going to be good this time.
