I was startled by my own reckless behavior and turned around quickly to leave the crime scene before the monster could do something to me.

By the time it was lunch break, I had forgotten about the incidents from earlier that morning. I was stressing about a new math assignment. Math was one subject I had struggled with since forever. I knew it was a necessary evil, but I hated it nonetheless. I mean when would I ever use half of the things such as logarithms in real life? Even if I needed it, I could use some online calculator right?

I munched on my sandwich and grabbed my phone to check the time. It was 12.30 which meant I had 30 more minutes until the next class. I took the novel I had started on last night and continued reading it.

The book was ripped out of my hands after I had finished another chapter.

Monster Manik!

"G-give it back!" The fear was evident in my shaky voice.

"G-give it back," he mocked me in a fake female voice.

I shot him a deadly glare and got up. "Give my book back!"

He smirked and read the backside of the book instead. "A stupid love story ?" he scoffed.

"Why do you care?" I shot back.

"Care? Baby, don't get your hopes up," he cooed and pinched my cheek with a sarcastic face.

I swatted his hand away in anger. "Don't call me baby," I hissed, trying to rip my book out of his hand.

He held it up so I could not reach it and said, "Baby Nandu, tell me what this story is about and I will return the book back to you."

"I won't tell you a damn thing! Give it back now!"

"Come on Nandu, enlighten me or the book is mine," he said dryly.

I caved after thinking for a second. He looked like he was telling the truth and I felt tired to fight with him over this. "It's about a girl who falls in love with a guy..."

He interrupted me by scoffing, "Such a cliche!"

"You wanted to hear what it was about," I grumbled in annoyance.

"Fine, go on," he said, glaring at me.

"The male lead doesn't believe in love..."

Manik frowned and gestured for me to go on.

"Uhm, that's how far I've gotten. Please, give me my book back."

He rolled his eyes and threw the book into the nearest trash can.

"Manik!" I screamed and dove my hand into the trash. I fished the book out soaked in rests of food and ice cream. It was disgusting.

"Now the book is in the perfect condition for trash like you. Show me your middle finger one more time and I will break that precious finger," the monster said before twirling around and walking off like he owned the place.

What a fücking asshole!

I let out a deep sigh and threw the book back into the trash. It was ruined just like my life was getting ruined because of this damned Manik and his stupid Fab 5.

I was seething by the time it was 1 pm. The monster had the other half of my lunchbox and now he had ruined my new novel. These two facts kept replaying inside my mind over and over again as I stomped to my next class.

"Baby Nandu!"

I turned around with a murderous glare, crashing right into the very bastard I loathed. He was just as startled as I was by the sudden impact and lost his balance.

"Manik!" I shrieked as he pulled me with him.

He landed on top of me, his weight knocking the air out of my lungs. And like that wasn't bad enough, his lips followed by landing on mine. Both our eyes shot open instantly. Manik gripped my hip and squeezed, making me groan against his lips. He pulled back immediately like he had been shot and got up as fast as he could. And then he did another thing I had not expected, he reached his hand out to help me up.

I hesitated and he sensed it. "Nandu, take my hand," he said. His eyes were soft and kind. I had never seen this side of him before.

I took his hand and pulled myself up. "T-thank you," I murmured, looking at my feet to avoid looking at him.

"Nandini!" his voice was rigid and cold all of a sudden.

I looked at him and saw the rage in his eyes. "Pull one of these cheap TV serial tricks on me again and you will wish you were never born. Understood?" he spoke slowly, each word laced with venom.

I wanted to react, but I was too shocked by his sudden mood swing.

"Fucking speak!" he yelled, making me flinch and clench my eyes shut. "Stupid bitch!" I heard him curse under his breath as he marched off.

I put both my hands in front of my mouth to muffle the sob that threatened to escape. I ran in the other direction to the bathrooms. I couldn't go to class like this.

That monster was so cruel. He made everything look like it was my fault whilst it was all his fault. He was turning my college life into a living nightmare.

Another sob escaped my lips. Monster Manik had not only stolen my first kiss but he had also taken my second kiss. I have always dreamed of sharing my first kiss with someone special like in romance novels and movies, but that cruel monster had ruined everything for me.

"Please god, help me," I whispered as I wiped my tears with the back of my hand.
