"It's so fucking hot in this city," I complained to no one in particular.
It had been a couple of hours since I had met the guys who I guess I could now consider my friends.
"I knew you weren't from around here," Steven said.
We were both laying on the couch. Our feet hanging off opposite arms of the couch and our heads meeting in the middle.
"I'm bored," Steven said after a minute of silence.
"You wanna play a game?" I asked.
"What kind?"
"I don't know. Do you have any board games?"
He just snorted so I took that as a no.
"How about something stupid like truth or dare or never have I ever?" I suggested.
"That's lame."
"Fine. Let's go somewhere then," I said and sat up.
Steven sat up as well.
We started to talk about where to go but we couldn't seem to agree.
"What do you even want to do?" Steven asked after a few minutes of bickering.
"I don't know," I shoved him lightly and tried to think of something fun.
He shoved me back. "Don't be a loser. Choose something."
"Don't tell me what to do," I joked and pushed him a little harder than last time.
A couple minutes later, I was standing on the couch while Steven stood on the floor in a headlock that I put him in.
We were still annoying each other, but it was a joke now.
"You're stupid," he said.
"I know you are, but what am I?" I replied with a smirk.
Then Axl walked in.
He took one look at us and sighed.
"Just get the fuck out of here. You guys are practically five year olds I swear," he ran his fingers through his hair.
"Hey!" We whined in unison.
"I'm not five. You sack of party pooping potatoes!" I told Axl. Apparently I wasn't good at insulting people.
Axl raised his eyebrows. "Leave."
"Don't tell me what to do," Steven said as he grabbed my arm and dragged me toward the door.
"Why'd you go and do that?" I asked Steven. I was kind of angry at him for letting Axl tell us what to do.
"We were gonna leave anyway. And I didn't want Axl to be all pissy like he gets."
"Oh. I didn't know that."
"Of course you didn't. You've known us for a few hours," he laughed.
"Oh yeah. I forgot that I just met you," I grinned.
"You're weird," Steven said and put his arm around me.
I wiggled out from under his arm. I didn't like that fact that I really, really liked it when he did that. Also he was warm. And it was annoying to be all sweaty even though I was always hot because this city was just too damn hot.
"What do you wanna do?" Steven asked.
"I don't know," I looked around. "Let's just walk around for little bit."
