29. Drain You

Virginia came in shortly after she knocked on the door.

"I came to meet my grandson," she said as she headed over to the bed.

"Virginia meet Eric Kristopher James Grohl," I said as Dave stood up and filmed his mom and I. Virginia put her hands to her face as she started crying.

"So mom how's it feel to be a grandma?' Dave asked with a small chuckle. Virginia looked at him and tried to cover her face when she realized he was filimg her.

"David I'm not in the mood to be filmed," She said as she kept her hand up.

"You won't win. I didn't," I said witha smile as Dave turned the camera back to me. I flipped him off and he turned the camera to face him.

"Your mom thinks she's so cool but don't use that figner until your like 20," Dave said before turning is back to face me.

"Your daddy thinks he's being funny but he's really not," I said as Virginia came and stood on the other side of me. "Wanna hold him?" I asked her.

"Yes please," she replied. She took Eric out of my arms and sat down in the chair by the bed. She cried as she held him. Watching her with Eric made me wish my mom and dad were here. I started crying and looked towards the door. Dave turned the camera off and came over to me. He sat on the edge of the bed and put a hand on my leg.

"What's wrong?" he asked.

"I just wish my mom and dad could ahve been here to see him. Like how your mom is," I replied as I looked at him. He put a hand to my cheek and wiped my tears away.

"I know baby. Your mom would be crying like my mom and they'd be fighting over who got to hold him while your dad would probably give me a lecture about responsiblity and how I needed to grow up but then he'd tell you how proud of you he was and say something like my little girl is all grown up or something," Dave said.

"I love you so much," I replied as I started crying again.

"Why are you crying now?" he asked as he rubbed my leg.

"You just said something really sweet and I didn't expect to cry," I said through the tears.

"Her hormones are a little out of sorts right now. She's happy, sore, tired and probably feeling everythign all at once," Virginia said as another knock came on the door.

"Come in," Dave yelled, which caused Eric to cry. Virginia handed him to me and I started rocking him a bit and shhhhing him. It seemed to work.

"Well he sounds healthy," Hunter said as he and Sadie walked into the room with balloons and flowers. Sadie also had a teddy bear in her arms.

"He's totally adorable," Sadie said as she stood on the side fo the bed closest to the door.

"He's the perfect little man," I replied as I looked at her. Dave picked up the camera again and started taping again.

"Your aunt Sadie and uncle Hunter were the first ones to come visit you after grandma. Say hi uncle Hunter and aunt Sadie," Dave said as Hunter came and stood beside Sadie. Sadie blew a kiss to the camera before she waved and said hey. Hunter just waved and said hi.

"He's so chubby," Sadie said as she reached a hand out to Eric. He wrapped his tiny hand around finger and she melted. "I'm gonna spoil you so much that your mom and dad are gonna be jealous."

"I doubt that. His mother will probably spoil him more," Hunter said.

"Dave's bought more stuff than I have for him. He started when we found out it was a boy," I replied. Dave was filming the whole time. He turned the camera back on hsi own face.
