June 4th, 1993

I woke up and realized Dave wasn't in bed. I got up and headed to the bathroom. I showered and got dressed in shorts and a tank top. I walked out to the living room and saw Dave trying to get Eric to walk. He would walk if he held onto something but would crawl if there was nothing to help him walk.

"Come on buddy. Come to daddy," Dave said as he held his arms out. Eric was standing by the couch holding onto the arm. He got down on his knees and crawled over to Dave.

"Well he did come to you," I said.

"Walk to mommy. Mommy will give you kisses," Dave said as he stood Eric up and pointed him towards me. I kneeled down and put my arms out. I knew Eric would walk when he was ready but Dave wanted him to walk so I went along.

"Come on sweetie. Come get some birthday kisses," I said with a smile. Eric smiled at me and bounced a few times as Dave held his hands. Eric took one step and then gave up like usual and crawled over to me. I picked him up, stood up and kissed him on the cheek. "Is daddy forcing you to walk?"

"Dada no," Eric said as he pointed at Dave, who stood up as well.

"Ya you tell him. Daddy no," I said as Dave walked over to us. Dave put my hair behind my ear then put his hand on my lower back and kissed just below my ear.

"Good morning. Coffee is made if you want some," Dave said as he looked at me.

"I gotta get this place ready for your party," I said to Eric before I gave him another kiss on the cheek.

"Don't I get one?" Dave asked as I put Eric down. I stood up straight and put my arms around his neck.

"It's not your birthday so why should you get one?" I asked as he put his hands on my hips.

"Because I love you," Dave replied as we heard a noise. We looked over by the couch and saw Eric banging his blocks together.

"I guess that's a good enough reason," I said before I leaned in and kissed him.

"So did you take a test today?" Dave asked as I walked into the dining room.

"Dave I'm not taking one every morning. I just want to focus on Eric today and make his day amazing," I said as Dave joined me. I looked at the balloons and then at Dave.

"I saw that and no I'm not blowing them up. You want those done ask Krist whose walking across the drive way right now," Dave said as he looked out the dining room window. I looked and saw Krist. He joined us in the dining room shortly after.

"Good morning Grohls. Where's the birthday boy?" Krist asked.

"Morning and in the living room playing with his blocks. Here catch," Dave said and threw the balloons at him. Krist caught them and made a face when he saw what it was.

"Damn it," Krist said as he sat down and opened the bag. Eric crawled into the dinig room with something long in his hand. I picked him up as he came over to me and realized it was a drumstick.

"Is daddy leaving his drumsticks out for you to find now?" I asked as I took it from him before he could hit Krist's head with it. I handed it to Dave and he put it in his back pocket.

"Sorry babe. I was practicing last night and I forgot one rolled under the couch," Dave said as he took out paper plates and napkins from one of the bags.

"I'm not mad. I'm cool as a cucumber. Did he eat though?" I asked before I went to the kitchen.

"Ya. Can you pour me a up too please babe?" Dave asked as I walked into the kitchen.
