Chapter 9
The next morning, Alex gets up, and ready for the day. As she was getting her some milk to drink, her phone rang.
“Can’t I just be left alone on my day off?” she asked as she went to answer it. “Hello?” she asked.
“Alex, it’s Denise,” she heard.
“Denise, hi,” she smiled.
“Hello, good morning.”
“Good morning to you too.”
“How are you?”
“I am fine, how are you?”
“Fine.”
“Wonderful,” Alex smiled, “How may I help you?”
“Well, Paul and I were wondering since we were in town, if you’d like to come over for the day, and spend it with us.”
Alex was in shock, “Um, sure. Do you need or want me to bring anything?”
“Just yourself. If you want, bring the notebook so that you can answer more questions for your brothers.”
“Sure, I’ll do that. I’m sure that I need to make up for the past three months.” Alex looked at the clock to see that it was eight in the morning. “So, what time?”
“Well, your apartment is about fifteen minutes away from our house, so in fifteen minutes, is that enough?”
“Sure, just have a few more things to do and I’ll be ready.”
“Great. I’ll see you soon then.”
“See you soon.”
They hung up, Alex went to finish getting ready, and grabbed the notebook.

Fifteen minutes later, Alex was dressed, ready in her jacket, held onto the notebook and her purse while waiting and watching for Denise’s car from the front room window.
Soon Denise was outside, Alex came outside, locked the door, and went over to the car, and got in.
“Hi!” they said reaching over to hug, and then Alex buckled in before Denise drove off.
“So what’s the plan?” Alex asked.
“Well, when we get back, we can make breakfast together if you’d like, the boys should be up soon, and after we all eat, the boys could give you a private tour of the house,” Denise answered.
“I would love it,” Alex smiled.
“Great.” Denise then asked, “So, did you read anything after you moved?”
“Yes, I read most of the journal entries. I didn’t know that Kevin and Joe were so upset about all this. But later they started to open up more, and accepting me.”
“They can never be mad at someone forever,” Denise agreed, “even with them being a family member.”
Alex opened up to the last journal entry that Kevin wrote after he finally opened up to her. “I’m just happy that Kevin opened up finally. I can’t believe it took him 4 weeks. Right before you guys came to NYC in January.” Alex alone reread the journal entry again while Denise was driving back.
