Chapter 12
Everyone was talking until they heard a huge scream. It was so loud that everyone jumped.
The Jonas Brothers looked at each other with wide eyes, “ALEX!” they yelled, and booked it upstairs. “ALEX!” they said again.
They got to her doorway, saw her on the floor screaming and crying curled into a ball.
“Alex?” Kevin asked going over to kneel down beside her.
“Alex what’s wrong?” Joe added going over and kneels by Kevin.
“NO!” she screamed.
“Alex, please tell me,” Kevin said as he started to cry.
Joe was checking to see if she cut herself, or was hurt, but didn’t see anything.
Nick still in the doorway was scared to even move and was shedding a few tears. He saw her phone lying next to her opened. He slowly walked over, picked it up, pushed a button to light up the screen, and there was a text that she had just received a few minutes ago.
Alex, it’s Michael. I’m sorry to bother you, but your dad had a heart attack. He died an hour ago. I’m so sorry. Please come back to NYC. We need you since you are the only closest in kin. I’ve already told your mom, she’s coming to help out. Call me if you need anything. Again I’m sorry. Mike.
“Oh my gosh…” Nick said as he read it, and hands the phone to Joe.
“What’s going on?” Joe asked taking the phone.
“I have to go tell mom and dad,” Nick told his brothers and quickly left the room running down the stairs.
Joe read the phone text, “Her dad’s dead.”
Kevin started to cry more as he felt Alex pains. “Alex,” he said and sits down onto the floor, and picks her up to hold her in his lap.
Alex didn’t care who was holding her, but just cuddled up to whoever it was and just cried.
Joe looked at Kevin now letting the tears fall, and Kevin had Joe hug him and Alex while rubbing Alex’s back.
They tried to think of something, and they started to sing, ‘Hello Beautiful’ which Kevin sang Nick’s part.

Dani was worried and started to cry when she heard feet running down the stairs and saw Nick.
“What happened?” Paul asked.
“What’s wrong?” Denise asked.
“Alex dad died an hour ago,” Nick told them which Denise covered her mouth to not cry. “Michael just sent a text letting her know.” Nick told them the rest of the message. He then started to cry. “Mom I’m scared for Alex.”
Denise nodded and hugs him, “You go back up there with your brothers. We’ll take care of everything down here.”
Nick nodded and went back upstairs.
He heard his brothers singing ‘Hello Beautiful’, went on the other side of Kevin to hug Kevin and Alex while rubbing Alex’s back, and started to sing were Kevin left off, and they sing together.
