Chapter 13
Everyone got up and dressed, and had an easy breakfast. Then Alex was in her room packing up her bag because she knew that she had to head back to her apartment. She got done packing, and went over to her window to see that the boys were outside playing with Elvis and Riley. She reached up to play with her necklace. She didn’t realize that she slept with it, but she felt so much closer to her brothers after what happened, but as of tomorrow, she was going to have to figure out how to get to NYC while her brothers went back on tour again.
Danielle walked to Alex’s room, and saw Alex looking out her window. She knew that Alex was quiet during breakfast, and that she had to come up with money for flying to NYC while Danielle and the others go on tour in the morning. Danielle knocked on the door as Alex heard and turned around.
“Hey Alex,” she said.
“Hey Dani,” she said smiling, and looks back out.
“May I come in?” she asked.
“Of course,” Alex smiled and looks down at the ground outside.
“Are the guys playing?” Dani asked.
“Yeah, playing ball with Elvis as Riley is trying to catch it,” Alex answered.
Dani smiled then sighed, “Alex, can we talk for a minute, before Paul or Denise takes you home?”
“Sure,” Alex smiled and they sat down in the loveseat.
Dani pulls out an envelope for her pants pocket, and hands it to Alex. “Here. I want you to have this.”
Alex takes it, and opens it to see a check with her name on it, signed by Danielle.
“Oh, Dani, I can’t take this,” Alex said.
“Look,” Dani holds her hands on top of Alex’s. “I want to help my sister-in-law. Right now you need the money to fly out of here and get business done in NYC. Let me help you. This is my personal account, Kevin doesn’t even know about it.”
“But…”
“Wait, there’s more,” she smiled. “I have a girlfriend that is in NYC, and she’s agreed to let you stay with her for the time that you need to be there until the business is over and you can come home.”
Alex was surprised, “You really want to help me don’t you?”
Dani nodded, “I felt so bad last night not being able to help you cope since you had your brothers, so let this be my part in helping you.”
Alex started to cry as the girls hug.
“Thank you.”
“You’re welcome.”

Denise took Alex back to her apartment. Alex was quiet on the way back looking out the side window, as Denise knew something was bothering her.
“Alexis, what’s wrong?” she asked.
Alex was playing with her necklace again, and looked over at her mom. “Just thinking about last night, and this morning…”
