Her

My feet shuffled over the old wooden floors, slowly progressing my way towards the end of the bookcase. My finger slowly ran over the hard cover of the book that had caught my interest. I lifted it from his spot on the bookshelf, which was probably not its original place. It was still confusing to me how some people found it so difficult to just place an item back on the place it belonged. But maybe it was just my perfectionist mind asking more from humanity then it could handle these days.

A tiny bell tinkled down at the bookshop, distracting me from the book I wasn't even paying attention to anymore. Quickly my feet carried me down the once again wooden stairs. It was a very dreary day today, rain and wind hindering most people from doing what they had planned this day. Because of the bad weather I wasn't expecting any customers, neither had anyone been here all day.

I came to a halt at the end of the staircase. My eyes searching for the person I couldn't directly find. ''Hello?'' My voice spoke, softer than I had originally planned. As soon as I spoke I heard books crashing down to the ground from behind a bookcase. ''My bad!'' I heard an familiar voice exclaim. I giggled quietly, walking towards the source of my sudden happiness.

I turned the corner and saw a pair of brown eyes look up to me. ''You scared me.'' A grin playing on his lips while he gathered the books he previously dropped.

''Everything scares you'' I stated, thinking back of all the times my soft voice had scared him for no reason. After all he knew I was in here, and he still got startled when he heard something other than the song lyrics dancing through his head.

He stacked the books nicely on top of each other before standing and pulling me in a warm embrace. ''I missed you'' he whispered, his voice cracking as he kissed my cheek. I couldn't help but get a blush on my cold, already red cheeks as he spoke. ''I missed you too'' I honestly replied, letting go of the boy.

''So..'' I quickly started, coughing lightly before pointing to the books he previously stacked. ''I brought you books, just so you'll have something to do in the next fifteen minutes'' He spoke, chuckling at his words before he had even said them.

I glared at him. He knew I read a lot, and he loved to tease me with it. ''Thank you'' I simply replied, not even having to convince myself to not reply with something sarcastic enough to be funny, or maybe even a little insulting. Even though my attempt would be funny enough.

After some more of his 'funny' jokes, we decided to go upstairs.

The upstairs area was a library, but a more private one. There were three bookshelves stocked with favorites of the people who were allowed to come up here, but most of the books were mine. Behind the bookshelves was a small kitchen. With a tiny refrigerator, a microwave and a coffee machine. The staircase was placed in the middle, wooden fences on either side of it. Then on the other side there was a corner with a comfortable couch and a big dark red love seat. A vintage table placed in the middle.

''How's Gigi?'' The boy currently making us hot chocolate milk asked, making me look up from wherever my eyes had previously stared at. ''She's fine'' I simply replied, rubbing my tummy with my cold hand. His head turned towards me, scanning my position in the love seat.

He knew that sometimes I just wasn't in the mood to talk, so he let it go and continued his activity. My legs curled up againt my body, keeping me warm on this cold October day.

''Liam?'' I softly spoke, the brown haired boy turned around to face me when his name slipped passed my lips. ''Yes?'' he spoke, his fingers ticking on the dresser, waiting for the milk to heat up.
