''What are you doing?'' Harry curiously asked, scooting closer to me. ''Writing.'' I simply replied, putting my pen down on the paper again. ''What are you writing?'' He asked, making me pull my hand back and look at my paper. ''Not much...'' I honestly replied. I had been sat her for a few minutes, by the window looking down at a beautiful garden. Writing usually could help me escape from reality at least a little bit, but not this time. I laid my head back and sighed, staring out of the window. ''You know, I used to keep a journal too.'' He told me, making me look back at him.
''Used too?''
''Yeah, just haven't gotten around to writing in it again.'' He explained, leaning against the window. Silence fell between us again, but I couldn't keep my eyes off of him. There was something about him that made me want to look at him, forever. ''Do you want to try?'' I quietly asked, sticking out my notepad for him to take from me. He quietly did so.
It took him five minutes of blankly staring at the paper before he wrote something. It didn't look like much. But I never got the chance to ask, ''Haven? We can go see Gigi.'' Liam spoke, panting from running.
I jumped of the windowsill and turned around quickly towards Harry, he just nodded. Liam grabbed my hand and together we walked back towards where he came from, leaving Harry behind.
I pinched Liam's hand once we were stood in the elevator. ''This means she's okay, right?'' I asked, turning to the bearded boy. ''Yeah, it does.'' He gave me a small smile.
''Will you come in there with me? I don't want to go alone...''
''Of course I will, Haven.'' He replied, pulling me against him. ''Just calm down, okay?'' He looked down at me, brushing a strand of hair out of my face. I hadn't even noticed how fast my heart was pounding, and how fast I was breathing until Liam suggested I was freaking out. I nodded, and took a deep breath. He chuckled and fully pulled me into a hug now, I wrapped my arm about him, and still holding his hand with the other. We could only hug for a few seconds, because quickly enough the elevator doors opened and we had to get out.
''Doctor Mills, this is Haven.'' Liam introduced me to the doctor waiting in front of Gigi's room.
''Haven, it's nice to meet you. You can go and see your grandmother for now, but after I really do have to ask you some questions about her.'' He told me, nodding towards the room. ''Thank you.''
My hand was clammy in Liam's as we both entered the room. There was only one bed here, and it was preoccupied by a grey mob of curls. The older woman faintly smiled when she saw us enter.
''Oh, hello. Do we know each other?'' She asked, looking from me, to Liam. Her eyes fell on our intertwined hands quickly before they rose up to my face again.
''No, we don't.'' I turned to Liam, frowning. ''This isn't Gigi, Liam.''
He didn't answer, he just stared at the woman, just as confused as we were. ''Sorry for disturbing you, Ma'am.'' I kindly spoke before pulling Liam out of the room.
I stood still in front of the room, confusing flushing over me. They thought I was her granddaughter? I waiting all day in fear just to see a woman I have never seen before in my life? And where is Gigi? I had so many question, it hurt my head.
Liam pulled me over to the doctor, who was standing chatting with Harry in the waiting room. ''Is she alright?'' Harry instantly asked when he saw me, my notebook still in his hand.
''She's fine, but she's not my grandmother.'' I looked at the doctor. ''That woman in there is not my grandmother.'' I spoke again. ''We must have gotten your number off of her, are you sure you don't know her?''
