Chapter 5

The bells went off, signaling the fire drill was over. The sound caused everyone to explode into voice as if we were all holding our breath. Teachers tried shushing us but there was no point, the conversations continued as we walked back into the warm building.

The stairs. The stairs. The stairs. Get to the stairs. I assumed he meant the stairs near the English department. There was a corner there where some kids in the past got in trouble for smoking, making out, etc. Everything happened there.

The students filtered out of the halls, leaving me alone by the stairs. I felt guilty not going to class but it was almost over, and whatever Spencer wanted me for must be worth it. I became worried though. He probably just played me. I knew he wouldn't want to see me anymore. I started to walk back to class.

I turned the corner and immediately contacted with a hard muscular front. I was so scared until I looked at eye level to the person. SPENCER! I breathed hard, apologizing.

"I'm sorry, I didn't see you there. I didn't think you were gonna come," I explained.

"It was my idea wasn't it?" he said. "I wouldn't just leave you hanging."

Somehow he made me feel good inside. Why the hell does he even have an interest in me? I mean, I'm definitely not complaining.

"So why'd you want me to meet you here?" I was as nervous as last time. He always keeps me on my toes. That boy is so mysterious.

"I thought we could talk for a little. Do you want to talk in the hide room?" He suggested.

"Oh, is that what we're calling it now?" I giggled. I thought it'd be more secretive, but somehow he acted like everyone knew. Maybe everyone did know... oh crap, I'm making myself look uncool again. Okay no more questions for me.

"Yeah, come on sexy." He made the hottest face, and with that line, my insides melted.

"Shh! You never know who's around!"

He playfully shoved my shoulder and chuckled. This boy could not get any cuter. He tugged my arm and led the way.
