James Arthur~ If Only
_Alexandra
There is only so much a person can take, before they finally decide to give up. It's when people decide when it's enough. When they come to realize they can't.
But right now was not the time to give up. Not when every thing felt so perfect for the first time in ever. Not when the snow was falling from the sky and sticking to my hair. Not when the snow was crunching under my black Uggs.
Especially not when the snow covered the tree tops. This is what I was living for. The beauty in nature. The beauty in life. I haven't given up because I saw a reason to keep pushing myself.
Now I had to find more than one reason. Maybe my family, but we never really see each other. My dad was out working all the time. My brother was going to college, so I was left alone.
Friends? I had two. Melanie and Theo. They were like family to me. Always at my house. Or we met up at one of theirs.
My mind drew back to reality as I heard the bushes beside me move. My body froze in terror as a huge black wolf strode towards me.
My brain was telling me to run and scream bloody murder, but my body wouldn't cooperate. I fell to my knees as he came closer. The snow was soaking my leggings as I cautiously watched the animal in front of me.
My hand extended to draw him closer. His large paws padded the snow as he walked over and sat in front of me. I slowly slid my fingers through his fur. My eyes met his to notice they were grey.
I let out a breath I didn't even know I was holding. I cupped his face kissing his forehead. He shoved his face into my chest making me squeal. I giggled at the beast and wrapped my arms around his neck, in a hug.
"You're so beautiful." I whispered. His eyes darted around the Forrest. I noticed a small tattoo on his left ear. It was a silver full moon. I ran my thumb over it. I let my hand fall into my lap.
"What should I call you?" I tilted my head to the side looking over at him. His eyes met mine for a slight second before they moved away from me.
"What about grey?" I ruffled his hair. He licked my hand and I took that as a yes. I sighed looking up. The snow kept falling. The little snow flakes melted on my face. The wind picked up causing a slight shiver to make its way through my body.
"I wish you could talk." I whispered over to him. He whimpered nudging his face into my stomach. I squealed as he hit a ticklish spot. He jolted back in surprise. I laughed kissing his nose.
"If only." I shook my head stroking his fur.
