"There he is." Felix said pointing to Jacob, who was standing on the balcony of a treehouse.
We crouched behind the bushes along with some other lost boys. The time had come to try to take down Jacob.  We proceeded forward, but I was suddenly stopped by Felix.
"What?" I asked.
He put a hand on my shoulder and said,
"Okay, I'm going to ask a lot of you here. Just know you can say no."
"What is it?"
"I want you to stay back here...keep an eye on us. If it looks really bad, like there's no way we're getting out of this, I...I want you to come out and tell Jacob you want to stay with him."
I looked at Pan, who hadn't noticed we were no longer behind him. If I really did this, it would cause him so much pain, but there were people that needed to be saved here.
"I'll do it." I replied before Felix patted me on the back.
"You've got guts Guinea Pig."
Jacob snickered when he saw Felix and Pan approach.
"What? Have you come to defeat me?" He said as he let out a thunderous laugh.
They said nothing, Pan just simply conjured a ball of fire in his hand, and the battle had begun. It was painful to watch, lost boys from both sides were wounded and Jacob's magic seemed to be too much for Pan...although that didn't stop him from fighting. The battle came to a standstill when Jacob ripped Felix's heart from his chest. Pan looked up with an angry expression.
"What are you gonna do Peter Pan? Or should I even call you that? You're just some lowlife now."
Pan ran full force at Jacob, who waved his hand, brutally sending him into a tree and to the ground. He was unconscious now, and Felix's life was about
to be crushed when I ran.
"Jacob!" I shouted.
He head turned and a wicked smile spread across his face.
"My, what do we have here? Hey, Peter! You better wake up! Your precious ____ is abandoning you."
Pan sat up and rubbed his head. He quickly stood up when he realized what was happening,
"___, what are you doing?"
Next came the hardest thing I'd ever done. I looked at Pan straight in the face and said,
"I don't want to be with you. I want to be with Jacob."
He whispered,
"___, don't..."
A tear escaped my eye as I turned around and walked into Jacob's arms. Felix's heart was returned and he fell to the ground, gasping for air. Jacob brushed my hair behind my ear. His touch burned as he lightly caressed my cheek with his fingertips.
"I knew you couldn't resist," he said.
The words were bitter as they left my mouth,
"I love you Jacob."
After Pan was cuffed and the remaining others were tied up, I climbed up into my old room. I looked at Pan through the crack of the door before closing it, and on his face I saw the most heartbroken expression I'd ever seen.
