Pan took my hands and led me to the edge of the tower. We sat with our legs dangling over the ledge, and I tightly gripped the building.
"Don't worry, I won't let you fall," he said smiling to reassure me.
The building vibrated as the massive clock chimed beneath us. The deep heavy toll radiated across London as the city slept.
He kissed me and said,
"It's late now. I have to go."
"Wait, Pan, don't leave," I said grabbing his arm.
His eyes stared into my soul and filled me with love,
"I'm here..."
My eyes slowly opened from the heavy slumber. I was back in the old treehouse, in Neverland. I felt someone lying next to me.
"Pan..." I whispered.
"What did you just say?"
I turned and said startled,
"Jacob! W-why are you here?"
"I came in and you were still sleeping. I thought I'd wait until you woke up."
"Oh."
"I've got a whole day planned for us."
"Oh, you really didn't have to-"
"Say no more. I insist."
"Uh, okay."
He kissed my cheek and headed towards the door.
"You get ready, I'll meet you down for breakfast."
"Alright."
I opened the wardrobe and shuffled through the clothes. I brushed my hair and slipped on Pan's dress, mostly just to spite Jacob, even though he had no idea about the story behind it.
I climbed down for breakfast and saw Felix and Pan chained together, chopping firewood. As I walked past, Pan whispered in my ear,
"Hope you had pleasant dreams."
I whispered back without looking at him,
"That was you?"
"I never go anywhere without a potion or two."
I blushed as I walked away to grab breakfast.
After we ate, Jacob smiled and said,
"I've got something to show you."
He led me through the jungle and my stomach dropped when I recognized the direction we were headed. He had found the thinking tree.
I pretended to be confused,
"What is this place?"
"I'm not exactly sure. But it's got a lot of useful information on that bastard, Pan."
He continued onward into the thinking tree and I followed. He flipped through one of the books and showed me a page,
"You see this page?"
"The enchanted forest?" I questioned.
"This is our ticket to the magic mother load. With my powers, I could rule the whole realm."
"Jacob, this...this is-"
"I know, it's a little crazy...but I, I mean, we could be the best rulers in history."
"And how would you get all this power?"
"I'll do whatever needs to be done."
"Even if it includes hurting people?"
"___, of course there are going to have to be some casualties. It's just the sacrifices that are going to have to be made"
I looked at him disgusted,
"Who even are you?"
"W-what?"
"You are not the boy I grew up with. Where is he? Because that boy was my friend."
"I'm the same guy, I'm just a better version."
I took a deep breath and tried to calm myself down before I said something to break his trust.
"You're right. I support you Jacob."
He smiled and kissed me. I felt nothing...
