Peter Pan

I watched the dust blow away in the wind. That dust was once a friend, but now it was as meaningless as the dirt I was standing on.
I stood there silent and looked over at Pan, who was still cuffed and tied up. I walked over and broke the anti-magic cuff off and he waved the ropes that bonded him away.
I expected his arms to wrap around me, but instead he ran back down into where the he had been kept.
"Pan?" I said running after him.
"Damn it!" He shouted.
I jumped down from the ladder and turned to see Felix on the floor, blood smeared across his chest. Pan was kneeling beside him with his head in his hands. Today we had lost two friends.
I collapsed onto the floor next to Pan and we sat there and held each other for what seemed like hours. When we had cried so much that no more tears could fall, I asked,
"What happened?"
"Jacob...he struck Felix before taking me up there. I could help Felix and I told him to hang on until I could come back to heal him. I was too late."
"No, you weren't too late. It was this thing that Jacob became that did this."
He looked at me and brushed the hair away from my face. He pulled my face towards his and pressed his lips against mine.
"You're truly everything I have," he said.
I took his hand and enlaced our fingers.
"You're everything I've ever wanted."
"And what would that be?"
I kissed his cheek and replied,
"A home."
He snapped his fingers and we were in my old room in the treehouse.
"What are we doing here?" I asked.
He wrapped his arms around my waist and trailed kisses down my neck before replying,
"If you would have me, what we were talking about in the thinking tree."
My heart pounded in my chest. I had been waiting for this moment for so long.
He laid me down onto the bed. His touch was gentle and the feeling was unlike anything I'd ever experienced. The rhythm was sweet and for that moment we were the only two people in the universe.
After, he lead me up into the roof and we stared at the stars like we had so many nights before. His soft kiss was one I would never forget and he told me,
"I love you."
I rested my head on his shoulder and replied,
"I love you, Peter Pan."

Author's Note:
Thanks so much for reading voting and commenting on our three-book journey. I hope you enjoyed these books and got some joy out of them. Again, thanks so much for your dedication to the Pan books and if there are any questions or comments regarding the series I would be happy to answer. For upcoming works, I'll be publishing a Quicksilver (X-men/Evan Peters) one-shot to submit for the September 2k16 Fanfiction Contest, and if it gets enough votes and reads I'll probably publish a whole Quicksilver book. I've also been playing around with a Newt (The Maze Runner) X reader but I'm not quite sure if it will be published. If you have any suggestions on what you want to read next I'd love to read them. Thanks so much!
                                 Much love and gratitude,
