The Apocalypse

Part 12: Nostalgia

We were all busy talking that I didn't notice where we were. I just noticed when Juan asked me where we were and if I remembered the place.

Juan: "Hey Vane. Do you where we are?"

Vanessa: "huh?"

I turned around and all the memories started to roll in my mind.

Vanessa: "The abandoned park..."

Juan: "Remember when we used to go here when we were sad.."

Vanessa: "Yeah.. Whenever we felt abandoned.."

Juan: "Ahh.. The memories are still clear."

Vanessa: "Oh what.. That means.."

Maurice: "Is something bothering you twin?"

Vanessa: "YES!!"

Leonard: "Whats wrong?!!"

Vanessa: "WHAT TIME IS IT?!"

Anthony: "Holy sh*t!"

Vanessa: "Hey... don't cuss... If you wanna cuss use a name.." 

Juan: "WHAT THE esteban julio ricardo montoya de la rosa ramirez!!"

Vanessa: "... Just like that..."

We all laughed at what Juan said. Even if I panicked for a moment we still managed to make a joke and laugh about it, just having a good time with the family and just trying to enjoy each other's company now that I'm A-okay.

Maurice: "Come Danyelle, I'll show you around, we all used to go here."

Danyelle: "Why an abandoned park though?"

Leonard: "It helps Juan and Vane to relax and just express and help release their emotions."

Anthony: "We come with them for comfort and company so they wont do something stupid."

Danyelle: "Whoa.. Like what kind of stupid thing?"

Vanessa: "Oh the usual. Think of suicidal attempts."

Juan: "Yeah I've been there kind of, That's why I'm glad they're all here for me."

The abandoned park is a really special and memorable place for us five. Maurice, Juan, Anthony, Leonard and I. We come here whenever someone gets sad or depressed. The reason why we all go here whenever that happens is because it's a very quiet place, we cheer each other up, we play whenever we get to and by the end of the day we all lost whatever it is that was making us blue or angry, whatsoever. 

The park really brought and made a lot of memories. It's just the perfect place to go when the world is in chaos. No one visits this park anymore so we have it for ourselves. We all have our parts and places in this park. It's a huge park, we made it our territory and each of us have our own base and story.

Maurice has the garden side which has a few trees, he goes there sometimes he just sits down by the tree, relaxing, forgetting about problems until he falls into a nice nap. Anthony stays in a log house inside the park, it was supposed to be a store with key chains, cool shirts, snacks, hats and other things. Anthony just loves the log house since that's where he found his nice fedora.

Juan is a guy who really loves his potatoes. So, his base is the Potato house. It's not that big but its big enough for two people to go inside. It's supposed to be the potato stand, unfortunately it didn't sell very well, Juan was devastated. Leonard however, stays in a children's playground, he just lays down on one of the slides upside down, he said that way his frown is turned around.

I myself. I prefer to be in the shake stand near the garden side. I just lay down on the table, sometimes buy some essentials to make a smoothie, I make everyone a smoothie since we found out that the machines still work. There are times that I would just cry while eating dumplings. That abandoned park is our happy place, because whenever we go there to be sad and be depressed, someone comes and cheers us up. I love my friends. Oh no. Not friends but rather Family.
