The Apocalypse

Part 9: Oh What?!

As we were all checking our guns to see if everything is alright, we saw the city once again. I wonder what awaits our new day. I went beside Leonard in the yate and everyone was looking at me.

"What?"

"Leonard, make sure she doesn't control the yate." Maurice said.

"Right.. Sheezz I won't do it again.. Jesus.." 

We were approaching the pier and I saw our stolen pick up truck that's still there. 

"Hey guys! The pick up truck is still there!"

We made sure that the yate was secured, then we all got off and into the pick up truck.

"Can I drive?!" Anthony asked.

"Sure." Maurice replied. 

"Aw.. but I wanted to drive" I said.

"Shut up piggy." 

"Mau! SHUT UP why you always do this."

Everyone chuckled, then we got into the pick up truck, Anthony as our driver and Danyelle next to the driver's seat so she would be safe. Anthony drove off and we went on to the city. We saw a few zombies from afar that didn't bother us. We were all being low key and quiet as we drive. No one talked we were all silent at that point because we were seeing zombies around the area. 

We didn't know where we're going because Anthony didn't tell us. We all thought that we were just going back to the same grocery store yesterday but Anthony had something else in mind.

"A MALL?!!" I whispered with an angry tone.

"Hey it's not my idea!" Anthony replied.

"WHAT THE HELL!"

"Guys come on! Do it for me!! Please!!" Danyelle begged. 

"What?! This was your idea Elle??" I asked. 

Seeing Maurice facepalm at the background as I look at Danyelle. Oh lord whats going to happen to us.. No joke we're already risking our lives if we enter this mall. I guess we'll just suck it up.

After looking at everyone, we decided to go inside the mall, readying all our weapons. The mall is going to be pitch black if not for the sun. It seemed so empty, I thought this is a place where people are most likely to go. 

"It's so quiet". Maurice whispered.

"Shhh.. We haven't checked all areas yet." I said.

We all made it all the way inside, the place was wreckt. Broken glasses everywhere, blood on the floor and on the walls, flickering lights inside each store it was like a ghost town. No zombies though where could all of them be. We saw a lot outside near the mall but non inside the mall.

"SWEEEETT!!" Juan shouted.

"JINO!". I whispered angrily. 

"Oh my god.. Did I do it again?!" He asked.

We got mad because there's no saying that we could get out if there were zombies in there. We didn't do anything but expect for all the zombies to come to us. A minute passed yet no zombies? Well ain't this a lucky day for everyone. 

They all smiled at me knowing that there are no zombies around. Anthony stepped on the broken escalator, he looked at us trying to invite us to go upstairs. Leonard, Juan and Maurice followed Anthony. When I was about to follow as well and took a step towards them, Danyelle pulled me and ran towards a clothing store just under where all the guys were at. 

"Elle.! Why are we here? We shouldn't stray"

"Come on Van don't think too much!" "Come"

Danyelle pulled me inside the store, she picked up some clothes that was in there and gave it to me. She pushed me inside a fitting room and said

"I'm going to wait here." 

"I- I don't want to play dress up right now Elle."

"You are because I said so. Okay. Now hurry up." She said.

Just to let you know I'm serious and I'm boyish so I don't really do these kinds of stuff. Danyelle forced me so I played dress up just for her. I walked out of the fitting room on a dress she picked.

"Aw you look so pretty!" She said.

"Ughh.. Elle....." 

"It's nice, you should dress like that more."

"Now its my turn to pick yours" I said.

I went and looked for a nice dress for her, I got it and handed it to her. She went inside the fitting room, when she walked out, I got stunned. She was wearing a red vintage cocktail dress with a black ribbon around her waist. It's just absolutely stunning. 

"Maurice has got to see this" I whispered. "Come Elle!" I said as I grab her arm.
