The way his piercing blue eyes casts over you. The way his half-buttoned shirt reveals his toned, tattooed chest underneath. The way he lets his hands glide through the air and motions as he speaks. The way his green hair is always perfectly slicked back. And the way his face forms expressions which can never be fully deciphered by others.
I sat across the table from him, taking in all his features. I wondered, who is the man hidden under all that madness and insanity? In that moment, a revolting thought occurred that made me hate myself just for thinking it. Perhaps, the Joker was once a decently attractive man.
Quickly shaking that thought from my head, I focused on my surroundings. It's an understatement to say I felt out of place sitting in a private booth with the Joker in the most extravagant restaurant in the city.
A waiter politely hands him the wine menu and he barely takes one glance at it before tossing it over his shoulders. "The finest red for this pre-tty lady." He demands, sending a wink in my direction.
Shortly after, the waiter returns with a fine bottle of red wine in his hands and fills our glasses. I flash quick glances in the Joker's direction in between small sips of wine. I never had a taste for it.
The waitresses bring out what seems to be an endless number of dishes and I watch as they attentively place the final dish onto the table. "Please enjoy your meal, Mr. J."
I casually rest my phone on the table as I pick up my knife and fork, ready to dig in. Just as the tip of my knife slices the meat, my phone lights up with a text.
From: Ash
"Hey! This is Asher. It's been a while since we met at the nightclub, I hope you haven't completely forgotten about me :)"
I stare at my phone in horror, memories from that night flushing back, and I frantically reach to turn off the screen.
Too late.
"What do we have here?" The Joker raises an eyebrow as he tilts his head in curiosity. Nothing ever escapes his eyes.
