Lingering tension filled the atmosphere the following evening as the Joker summoned me into his room. My breathing became uneasy and my palms were sweaty as I stood outside of his room, the large double-doors are now the only things separating us.

I knock. There was silence. I waited, and as I bring up my fist to knock again, his soothing voice rung from the other side of the doors. "Come in."

Reluctantly, I place a hand on the handle and push down, slowly opening the doors. He sat shirtless on the couch with his back turned towards me, revealing his bare shoulders. "Ahh, there she is... The lady of the hour!" He stands and turns towards me, spreading his arms wide with a huge grin on his face.

He runs a hand through his hair as he makes his way to where I'm standing. "Now I... I took the liberty of preparin' a little somethin' for ya." Placing both hands on my shoulders and trapping me, he escorts me further into his room and positions me in front of his enormous TV.

No matter how hard I tried to remain calm, I couldn't hide my nervousness. He's known as the Joker for a reason. It's never a good sign when he's this enthusiastic about something. What if he's hurt my parents? What if they're already dead?

"Shh- " He places a finger upon my lips, silencing me before I could make any sort of comment. "Show's 'bout to start." With a sinister smirk and a click of the remote, the large TV screen flickered on.

My hands instantly shot up to cover my mouth as I stared wide-eyed at the horrifying sight in front of me.

It was Asher. Tied in a chair sitting in what seems to be an abandoned warehouse.

No, this can't be happening.
