Simple ways

Chapter 4

Me and Kailey woke up early in the morning for work, we brushed our teeth and ate breakfast. We both work at coffee shops. She works at caribou and I work at Starbucks.(I like caribou better) we both have two jobs both part time so we are not too stressed.

We change into our uniforms and head off to work, Kailey is the one driving so she drops me off on her way to caribou.

"Thanks for the ride, see you when you pick me up!" I said giving her a hug.

"See you when I pick you up."

I got out of the car and she took off. I walk into the back room and put on my robe. Today I'm at the cash register.

From9-5 i took orders and it was a non stop. There was one girl that could not make up her mind and she was holding up the line. She decided she wanted the Carmel frap, large. Lucky for me the customers behind her were patient well a few of them.

I finished my shift and so far we were past our goal for the day. I got changed in normal clothes in the bathroom. I waited outside for Kailey, her shift should be over soon.

I look at my phone to see what time it was, but I saw a text from Kailey instead.

Hey I have to go overtime, the person that is for next shift is sick,:( I'm sorry.

It's okay I'll walk home, see you there have a good day! I replied and started walking home. Luckily our apartment isn't too far from my work.

As I start walking back home I felt something wet hit me, then another then again. I look up and see dark clouds. And just my luck it starts pouring. I keep going trying to ignore the fact that my socks are soaking, I don't know why but I can't stand wet socks.

A whit car pulls up to me and rolled down the window.

"Need a ride?"

Sam!

"Yeah actually."

"That's nice." He starts moving the car forward a little.

"Hey!"

"I'm kidding get in!" He laughed.

"Sorry if I get your car wet." I said looking at my shirt and pants.

"No worries."

"So what are you doing around here?"

"Well I was gonna get a coffee but than me and Colby had to do some editing for the video, so I thought I could stop by."

"That's nice of you."

We pulled into the parking lot, and head up to my apartment. We walk in and I take off my shoes and soaking wet socks.

"Make your self at home, I'm just going to change real quick."

I walked into our bedroom and change into comfy clothes, sweats and a caribou shirt. I go into the kitchen and poor my self a cup of water and cut up an orange.

"Do you want fruit water?"

"Fruit water?"

"Yeah it's water but with fruit in it."
