So I have pretty bad asthma and from ages 3-8 I had to go to the hospital annually for attacks. And now I have to take my inhaler every day and take it with me everywhere I go. It doesn't matter if I'm active or not sometimes in school I would have to leave the classroom and call my parents so they could drop off my inhaler. But my first asthma attack is an interesting story because I remember every detail.
So when I was three I was watching hairspray on my tv because we just got the movie. So excited to watch it. The TV was on the ceiling at that point so you had to look up to watch it. I was having this coughing fit. So my mom told me go lay down and go to bed. I was mad that I couldn't watch the whole movie but whatever. So time passes. I'm still coughing can't breathe. The movies over. My sister is trying to sleep but she can't because I'm coughing like crazy. It's around 11. My mom calls me into her room so I can put on this mask that helps you breathe or something. I forget what it's called but I hated it. So I took that twice while watching the rest of hairspray. It didn't work so she took me to the hospital. I remember I was in my footsie pajamas. They put me on a gurney and said they were going to give me some treatment. I was little so I thought that meant some kind of treat, like a mint. I don't know why I thought that. I was 3. And so they do the mask thing again and do other stuff. Then they said we'll do more in the morning. I'm in a hospital bed a tv is turned on. My mom is asleep in her chair. I stayed up the whole night. I may have slept for an hour. That's it though. So the doctor comes in in the morning. Asks what I would like for breakfast. I say Honey Nut Cheerios. They only have the plain Cheerios. So I eat them. They give me the mask thing. Then they sent me home with a pillowcase and a puzzle which I still have to this day.
Yeah. That was my first asthma attack. I can't remember any of the other ones though.
So yeah. Bye.
