Do you want a ride?

Let’s do a little recap here; it’s been a week since I came back from Sequim. Wes and Drew still don’t really talk to each other. I mean, they do, because we live together and they have songs to write, but they will say the least amount of word possible to each other. Keaton has been an angel ever since and he’s basically keeping us all together.

I was laying down on my bed with my laptop on my belly just going through facebook. As always nothing great was happening until I heard the little sound signalling that I had received a new message.

“Hey Lily! My roommate is planning a party to celebrate the end of summer…wanna join us?” It says, it was from Cameron, the classmate I met on the beach when all of this crap started. I’ve texted him occasionally over the summer, but I was too busy being happy with Wes that I didn’t really pay attention to him. But, I mean, a party could be great for my moral.

“Sure thing!” I answered followed by a smiley face.

“You can bring your bf if you want, it’s gonna be big!” Right, haven’t really told anyone that I wasn’t with Wes anymore.

“mhmm I’m as single as I can be haha” I joked, trying to avoid the many questions that were about to come.

“Seriously?!? What happened?”

“He did some stuff..It’s just not working anymore.”

“Right..Well if you want to talk about it, I’m all ears.”

“Don’t worry, it’s ok. So when and where?”

“Tomorrow, I can pick you up around 7pm and we could grab something to eat before?” Holy, I wasn’t really expecting that. It took me awhile to answer so he casually added:

“If you want.. I know you don’t have a car so I don’t want you to be in the bus to late haha there’s some creep in there let me tell you” I chuckled and anyways, a change of scenery wouldn’t be a bad thing, so I agreed and logged off after we talked for a little bit. I decided to make the best of this day so I changed into my bikini and a loose tank top as well as daisy dukes; I was definitely going at the beach to catch some waves. We were towards the end of the summer and in the middle of the week so I figured there wouldn’t be that much people. I walked out of my room and went into the living room to grab my phone and the rest of the things I needed. Wesley was standing there, rubbing his bare chest with sunscreen… of course. I smiled awkwardly at him and asked where he was going.

“The beach, Keaton was down there and says the waves are awesome.” He answered, while rubbing the back of his neck so the white lotion would disappear.  Aw fuck..he’s going to the beach, I’m going to the beach. Obviously I still talk to him, like small chat here and there but that’s it. I don’t want to handle him at the beach all day. That’s too much for me.

“Are you going there too?” He asked in an attempt to be friendly. I think it’s hard for him too. He wants to give me some space but I the same time we live together. How fucked up is that?

“huh yeah, haven’t been to the beach in forever.” I answered. I took my keys and my bag and I was about to head out.

“Do you want a ride?” He asked as he picked up his stuff also. He was the one with the car; I had to walk all the way there, carrying my board. It was a tempting offer.

“Sure, that’d be nice.” I smiled and we walked out together. I grabbed my board that was leaning against the house but I saw his right hand reaching for it at the same time.
