“I’ll give you a tour?” Cam asked sweetly when we walked into the small house he shared with one of his friends. There were already a couple of people chilling around. We went to this small restaurant earlier and ate some burgers and fries. I’m glad he didn’t bring me to a nicer restaurant because then it would have been too formal for my liking. So we talked about college and other random things, and honestly I was having a good time. He was really laid back and he had no difficulties making me laugh.
“Here’s the best part!” He said as he opened the door of a somewhat messy room.
“Your bedroom I’m guessing?” I laughed and he pulled me inside.
“You got a good eye. You can put your stuff here if you want, I’ll lock the door, so no funny business in my room.” I put my purse in the corner of the room and he told me about how at a party once he opened the door to go to sleep and there was two random people getting down to business in his bed. He’s taking precaution since then. We stayed there a little bit just chilling. We could hear some people coming in and out of the house, meaning the party was definitely on.
“Wanna go?” He asked standing up and extending his hand for me to take. I nodded and we walked out. I was right, more and more people had come in and it was starting to get crowded.
“I’ll get us a drink?” He said directly in my ear, making sure I’d understand over all the background noise.
“Sure thing.” We went our separate ways and I said hello to a couple of people in my classes. Cam eventually got back with two red cups in his hands.
“I got beer or rum and coke, I’ll let you choose.” He said sweetly. I smiled at his little attention and told him I’d drink the rum and coke.
“Is it strong?” I asked, wondering what proportion of alcohol versus coke in had put in. He shook his head, but I could still see a little smirk on his face. I tasted it and it was way worse than what I imagine. I probably made a face since he burst out laughing.
“Here, take the beer then, since you can’t handle liquor.” He winked playfully at me. I rolled my eyes and kept my hands on my cup. I could handle whatever.
“Ok, but don’t tell me I didn’t warn you!” He wrapped his arm around my shoulders and brought me to the living room where most of the fun was. The couches were pushed against the wall so the living room was bigger. Two tables we’re right in the middle. Some people were playing beer pong on one and the other was holding a flip cup challenge.
“Ohhhh we should play that later!” I exclaimed as I pointed to the flip cup table. Cam smiled and told me he would find us a kick ass team to play with. We decided to just chill out on a couch until that game was over. We sat next to each other, a little closer than I expected. He still had his arm around me and I could feel our sides and our legs touching. Before we could even say something a dude came walking, well more like stumbling, towards us.
“Cameron my man! I see you finally found a chick.” He kind of yelled over the music. I felt extremely uncomfortable, mostly for Cam.
“Jesse this is Lily. Lily this is my roommate, don’t bother with him. He’s already drunk.” Cam sighed.
“Oh the Lily you’ve been talking about? Sweet.” He said in a supposedly flirting tone. I just smiled and Cam pulled me a little closer.
“Yeah, you can go now.” Cam answered annoyed. Jesse then left to go back to some girls I supposed to be his girlfriend, because she slapped him lightly when he came back to her and she rolled her eyes, which I thought was funny.
