Chapter 3

Nathan's POV

What was I thinking? How could I do that to Caitlyn? I was sincere in apologizing to her in hope that she would forgive me. GREAT. Now I've just made things even worse with that kiss. She's never EVER gonna talk to me again.

I buried my hands in my face knowing the HUGE mess that I've created. "Erm the boys asked me to pass you this" I was interrupted by Caitlyn's voice. I saw her standing at the doorway, holding a glass of orange juice in her hand. She was trying her best to look away in an attempt to avoid the awkwardness between us.

Just when I took the glass from her hand, she muttered, "Oh yeah Megan is dropping by later so get ready" before walking away swiftly, trying her best to avoid me.

I grabbed her by her wrist and exclaimed "Cait" but before I could further explain myself, Caitlyn snapped back at me, "Don't you dare touch me after what you've done" "I just wanted to say..." I continued. "F*** OFF!" she screamed at me before running down the stairs. I punched my knuckles against the wall, knowing that Caitlyn was gonna hate me for life for that.

"NATHAN! DINNER'S READY!' I could hear Kelsey shouting from the kitchen. Kelsey's just like a housewife, always cooking sumptuous food for us. Wow, Tom's really lucky to have such a thoughtful woman as his girlfriend. "COMING!" I yelled before rushing down the stairs. Now is the time to flaunt my acting skills...

"So what's for dinner?" I plastered a grin all over my face, peering over the dinner table looking at the wide array of dishes. "Wow Kels you're really a good cook" I exclaimed. Wow, my acting skills ain't that bad after all. At least I managed to fool all of them with my convincing acting.

It was kinda awkward at first as everyone was so unusually quiet but Max, being Max, managed to break the awkward silence with his dad jokes again. "What did the grape say when I trod on it?" Damn it. AWKWARD SILENCE AGAIN.

"Okay so what did the grape say?" Caitlyn said awkwardly. "Nothing it just gave out a little wine" he said before bursting out laughing. SERIOUSLY MAX? Really, Max and his dad jokes. The thing about his jokes is that it's lame and not funny in one bit. I don't understand how Max could actually end up laughing at himself when everyone, including me, is giving him that 'really' look.

Well, I can't really blame Max for that. He's trying to liven up the atmosphere with his dad jokes but it simply backfired. Oh well, too bad. No amount of jokes can actually cheer me up at this moment when I know that Caitlyn is actually gonna stay mad at me for a long time, or maybe for a lifetime.

I wish that I didn't complicate matters, not to mention that I'm sitting next to her now. "I'm done" I said before walking up to my room. I couldn't bear sitting next to Caitlyn; I felt really guilty and I just couldn't bring myself to face her.
