I feel light touches on my cheek and I groan.
"Nik, I'm tired," I say.
"But it's almost the afternoon," he says in my ear.
I put a dramatic hand to my forehead, "but I feel ill," I say.
He hugs me, "then I'll kiss the pain away," he says and starts kissing me.
I laugh as he rolls us around on the bed kissing my face.
"Okay, I'll get up," I exclaim and he lets me go.
I take a deep breath and get out of bed. I turn around and give him a look.
"Did you talk to Elizabeth last night," I ask.
He sighs and stands in front of me, "yes I did, now do I get what I was promised," he asks, pointing to his lips.
"No, I won't kiss you with morning breath," I say and walk into the bathroom.
He follows me, "but I don't care about your morning breath," he says and traps me against the counter while I brush my teeth anyway.
While I brush he kisses my shoulder and neck, making me giggle and squirm. When I'm done I push him away gently.
I laugh and go into the bedroom.
But he catches me and pulls me into his chest. I giggle and peck his lips.
"I want more," he says.
"You are a greedy man Niklaus," I say.
But I give him what he wants anyway, a big kiss on the lips that I promised him last night if he apologized to Elizabeth.
I break the kiss and he smiles.
"Did you remind her about her homework that she left on the table," I ask.
"Yes, I took care of everything, you don't need to worry at all," he says and kisses me again.
I hum and close my eyes, "do you have to go take care of some things today," I ask.
"Yes, but only for an hour or so," he says like it doesn't mean anything.
I open my eyes and let go of him to sit on the bed.
"What," he asks with a frown.
"Nothing," I say shaking my head and hugging myself.
He sits next to me, "I think I know when something is bothering you, just tell me love."
I shake my head again, "I promise you it's nothing, you just do what you have to do," I say and shrug.
He sighs, "is this about me leaving," he asks.
I know how much ruling the French Quarter means to him and I don't want to get in the way of his goals.
"No," I say.
"It is, isn't it?"
I shake my head.
"I knew it," he says, "I won't go today, I'll spend all my time with you," he hugs me.
I admit, this does make me want to smile.
"But I'm getting in the way of what you want," I say sadly.
"But I want you," he says and kisses my cheek lovingly.
I smile and hug him back.
"I love you," he says.
I giggle.
"Okay, now get dressed," he says and let's me go.
I get up and change just as he tells me to do. A pair of dark jeans, a black silk button up blouse, and black boots. I comb my hair and let it flow don my back and put on some Chapstick.
