② Chapter ②

"Of course not, go ahead!!" I smiled nervously and looked away, praying my red bangs would hide the blush on my face.

"I'm Bertholdt, but most people just call me Bertl. I haven't seen you around before this, I mean except on the bus, but I mean-"

"Bertholdt! You're babbling again!" The tall blonde guy from the bus, Reiner, smacked Bertl on the back of his head. I looked up and eyed the blonde.

"Sorry about this, miss Yui, is it? He tends to do this around the pretty girls." A small blush creeped Bertl's face and Reiner smirked. Woah, excuse me pretty?

"W-well I'm new here, and I just met a few people, maybe that's why you haven't seen me around?" A half smile plastered on my face responded to his question from earlier. He seemed interested by this and nodded.

"Alright, class don't forget to get that paper signed!" The bell rang through the school and footsteps and chatter soon filled the air. I shoved the paper in my bag and walked out the door into the human affiliated hallway. This was the time I should use to look for my locker.

17b. 17b. 17b. 17b. UGH.

"Woah there, I'm sorry!" I bent down and picked up my folder with papers scattered all over the green checkered tile. A pair of hands picked up some papers as well, I looked up to see a boy helping me gather my sheets.

"Don't be sorry, it's my fault I should be careful and watch where I stand, haha." The boy rubbed the back of his head and smiled cheekily. He was a rather cute fellow, and had freckles too. I smiled and assured him it was no big deal.

"You're new here aren't you?" I sighed and tilted my head.

"Ha, what gave it away? The ten billion copies of the schools map?" He chuckled lightly and ruffled my hair.

"Well that, and the fact that you have your locker number out and you're standing in the D wing. The B wing is over that way." He used his index finger to point at the hallway down to my left. He grabbed the paper and my hand.

"May I?" Am I really letting this stranger lead me somewhere? You bet your sweet buns I am.

"Yeah, please. I mean if you don't mind!" He shook his head and lead me to the B wing.

"I'm Marco, by the way, nice to meet you!"

"I'm Yui, pleasure's all mine." I smirked and walked with him. This school ain't half bad.

Bertl's P.O.V.

Wow she was pretty magnificent. Pretty in every way but of course I messed it up. All I ever do is just run my mouth and never get the chance to talk in context. No thanks to Reiner, either.

"C'mon Bertl! I'm sure she didn't notice!"

"Are you kidding me? Did you see her face?! It was tomato red!!" I whisper yelled at the blonde.

"That means she digs you, bro!" I threw a paper ball at him and continued writing the notes for geometry.

How can she possibly dig me? I saw the way she looked at Freckled Jesus, all happy and she even had that cute glare she gave me on the bus. For all I know she could be dating him now or maybe she's making me jealous or...

"BERTHOLDT THE BELL RANG C'MON MAN WE DON'T HAVE ALL DAY!!" Reiner dragged me across the room and honestly I don't care if I'm late to any classes, I just need to see her.
