Yui's P.O.V.

"AND THAT'S WHEN I SAID HEY JEAN, WHY THE LONG FACE?"

The cafeteria room was filled with roars of laughter coming from our table, except Jean, who was silent of course.

After meeting Marco and finding my locker, we walked to class, and well, turns out we had the same class so it went pretty easy! I soon met others such as Sasha, Connie, Armin, Christa and Levi (for the story's sake I'm making corporal hot pants 17).

** time skip 2 next day blergh **

"Zach hurry up!!!" My brother was taking forever in the bathroom, let's just say that he didn't listen to a certain red head when she told him not to eat all the ramen. Thanks to him there is a 70% chance we're going to miss the bus and be late to school on our second day.

The door swings open revealing a dastardly looking Zach.

"Not. A. Single word, Yui." I put my hands up in defense and back up smiling.

Told ya so you nerd.

"Alright now that you're relieved of your.... duties.. DAMMIT THAT WASN'T SUPPOSE TO COME OUT LIKE THAT YOU KNOW I DIDN'T MEAN-"

"Shut up and let's go!!!" I was dragged out of the house by a boy who was bound to explode... if you know what I mean.

The bus ride to school wasn't half bad, most of the time I looked out at the mossy grass wondering how we ended up here. Not to mention I had my eye on a certain someone, but he seemed too busy to even notice me today. tch. whatever.

We got off the bus and said our usual goodbyes and headed to class. I'm still getting used to this place, and again, I have no clue where I am.

"Lost now are we miss Tachibana?"

"Kinda, mind helping me Reiner? After all, what are friends for?" I smiled enough to convince him. It's not like he had a choice, we have the same class.

"So, Yui tell me,"

"hmm?" He grabbed my hand and led me to a blue ragged chipped bench nearby.

"Listen Bertl is going to hate me for telling you but.." I tapped my foot rapidly and bit my lip hard enough to taste the iron on my tongue.

"Spill it Reiner!" He was taken aback and let out a deep chuckle.

"Impatient are we? Well let's just say you make him sweaty and he might or might have a crush on you. Notice I didn't give you much of an opposing side." Cheeks red as crimson took over my pale face. No longer was I a pasty princess but rather a flaming tomato.

"And.. you're sure of this, Reiner?" Golden eyes meet my violet ones and nod.

"Ask him out!" He blurted, startling me. Now the violent blushing had taken over once more. Then again, what do I have to lose?

'You never know unless you try, dear.'

Her voice rang in my head. She sounded as happy as ever, I can imagine her white smile and warm embrace around me. I remember her voice to the brim. She was always one to push me towards things, the right decisions.

Tears threaten to emerge from my eyes but I quickly wipe them away.

"Everything alright, Yui?" Reiner eyed me with concern. Sniffling, I stood up and grabbed my things. I listened for the slightest sound of a water drop falling on the pavement. Rain. The gentle cool drops always give me confidence in a way. It's like a simple song of nature, you never know where the drops will land, releasing different tones of sounds.

I slightly turned to face him. "Reiner, if he faints when I ask him, you're carrying him to the infirmary, deal?"

I felt him smirk. "Well Mrs. Fubar, let's go." I scratched my head and twisted a silky red lock of hair in between fingers as I walked behind the muscular teen. Here goes nothing!!

Bertl's P.O.V.

Where are they?

They're together I know it.

What if they're talking about me?

What if he did something?

Shit, calm down Bertl. You're paranoid. No you're not. YES. NO. YES YOU ARE. NO I-

"Bertholdt?" I snapped out of the war wagged in my mind only to hear her sweet soft voice by my ear.

"Oh uh Yui! Hello!" My voice was shaky as heck and I prayed to jesus it wasn't noticeable. I looked up to her to find those big vibrant purple eyes staring into my dull emerald ones. Her smile was perfect as well, not one tooth out of place. Her face was a flawless complexion, free of blemishes and it was an ivory shade. Dear lord please don't let me drool over this goddess.

"Well, I was kind of wondering..." she stopped halfway due to a nudge from Reiner. Her expression went from a joyful take to one that looks like she might puke, but still, beautiful.

"Well I was wondering if you would like to-"

"Alright class, take your seats, I know it's the second day of school but you have a quiz. It's just to see where you are at, it won't count against you! No talking please!!" Are you serious. Are you serious. Are you serious.

Yui sighed and took her seat by me. I'm basically dying at the fact that I dont know what she has to ask me, AND I have to wait about an hour to know. She's right here, not even 10 feet away. So close but yet so far.
