Trapped By Royalty

Chapter 2

2 Months later...

I sighed as I finished drying my hair. I left the bathroom and headeed towards the small table. I sat down in one of the chairs as I ran my hands over the table. I've memorized the whole layout of the table, every crack.

I flinched as I heard the door opening. I stood up and bowed. "Good afternoon, Ryan." I said as I stared at the ground.

"Good afternoon, My Audrey." I saw a smile on his face as I nodded and avoided his eyes. He set a basket on the table, the same basket he does almost everyday.

"I brought some Chinese." He said as he sat down.

"Thank you." I began pulling the items out of the bag and set them on the table for us.

"How have you been?" He questioned as we bagan to eat.

"Alright...Have you heard anything from my sister?" I stared at my plate, already inticipating his response.

He sighed, "You don't need to worry about them. We have everything we need right here, can't you see?" I could tell he was annoyed. "But, it if helps... she's doing fine. Great actually. She's pregnant, her and her husband, Eric, are thrilled."

I felt a pinch of sadness as he told me this. She'd have her baby without me...

"Oh, I'm glad she's happy..." I moved my food around on my plate as I forced myself to hold back the tears. It'd only anger him.

"Look at me. Stop staring at your damn food." He demanded as he banged his fist on the table, making me jump.

I slowly dragged my eyes from my plate and looked into his brown ones. So dark they almost seemed black. "Sorry..."

"You know what I don't understand?" He said with authority. I didn't say anything. "I don't get how your so ungrateful. I could've raped you or murdered you by now. I give you everything you ask for, but your still so damn distant! You don't talk to me or anything! Is there something you want? A fancy dress or new room?" He growled at me.

I stood up from my seat and stared at him, "You know what I want! I want to leave! I want to leave this hell hole! I want to be by my sister's side through her pregnancy! I want to have control over my life!"

He stood up too, I could tell he was angry. I braced myself. "You can't have that! You belong here! I can't wait around forever for you to love me!"

"How am I supposed to love you when you treat me like this?" I shouted back at him with tears threatening to spill.

Realization flashed in his eyes, "Your right. I'm sorry." And with that he slowly approached me and hugged me... but, this was different... like, he was here for me and felt bad...

I let him hug me for two reasons. It actually felt real and I don't want to know what he'd do if I pushed him away.

He stayed in my room for longer than normal, we played a few board games that he'd brought up. It was the most fun I've had in a long time.

Right before he left he turned to me, "Audrey?" I looked at him afraid the one Ryan would appear, "Yes?" He sighed, "I have some family coming in for a few weeks, it's really important... Your gonna be my fiance. But, I'm going to have to let you out of this room so  they don't get suspicious. I need you to be good. Promise?" I nodded my head but on the inside I was livid.

He faked all this so I'd be in a good mood for when his family came. After the door was shut I cursed to myself. How could I be so stupid?

Wait, I'm going to have freedom to the house. 

Maybe I can use the family as a way out...
