Since Daniel left school went by all to quickly. Prom passed then final exams came around. I spent all my time studying, making sure I got in to my dream college, UCLA. More and more I became distant with my friends, and even my family. By the time school was over I was a mute. I wouldn't talk to anyone. Even when I accepted my diploma I was silent.

For the first few weeks of summer, I did nothing. While I was laying on my bed one day I decided to get my skate board out. Ever since I hurt my foot I haven't skated much and it was about time I started up again.

While I laced up my sneakers I thought of places I could go. The normal skate park I go will be crawling with people I don't want to talk to. In my head I couldn't think of any other places, so I was forced to go to the skate park I usually go to.

Of course it had to be busy. I looked around to see if anyone I knew was there. There was a girl and a guy from school, but I don't know their names. Keeping to myself, I started off at a slower pace. As I got more steady I did harder tricks. Soon I was back to myself.

For about an hour or so I just did my thing until I got hungry. Skating back to my house, I watched the scenery go by. Little things reminded me of Daniel, distracting me. I hit a bump and nearly fell. Regaining my balance, I made sure to pay attention to the side walk.

A couple was walking a dog so I swerved out of the way, nearly tumbling on to a lawn. Usually I'm not this clumsy on a skate board. I made it home without any injuries and just in time to help with groceries.

When the groceries were put away, I made myself a sandwich. I sat outside and ate since it was a nice day. As I ate I thought about my application in to UCLA, hoping I will be accepted. My application was sent in at the end of the school year so I should be getting a letter soon.

I finished my sandwich, going inside and putting my dish in the sink. Out the window I saw the mailman pull up, putting in a rather large envelope. He saw me in the window and waved, giving me a wink. Either its something good or he's a creep.

"I'll get the mail!" I called out, running out the door. There was a spider on the mailbox, so I flicked it off. Opening it, I saw one big envelope and a few small ones. As I walked back to the house, I looked through the mail. Most were made out to my mom, but the big one had my name on it. In the corner, I saw it said UCLA.

Excitedly I slammed the door, running in to the living room. "What's got you so happy?" my mom asked. I handed her the letter, bouncing on the balls of my feet. She looked it over, her eyes widening. Handing it to Nicole, she got up. Hugging me, she said, "That's great honey, I'm so proud of you." Instead of backing away, I hugged her back.

"Thank you." I said. Next Nicole got up to hug and congratulate me, then my dad. After everyone had calmed down, my dad declared he would take us all out to dinner. Usually I don't get this much attention, and I kind of like it.

I can't believe I actually got accepted in to my dream college. This is amazing.

The first day of college got closer and closer. I began to pack everything, going to the store to get a few room accessories. About a month before school starts, I took a campus tour. When I had made myself familiar with everything, I headed to get something to eat.

Since I had driven myself, I decided to drive to the beach. Finding a parking spot, I put my keys and phone in my pocket and put my shoes and socks in the car. I put my toes in the water, letting the warm water go over my feet.
