*joey's p.o.v*
Sounds of birds chirping woke me. The warmth that was next to me last night was gone, replaced by the cold, hard ground. Groggily I sat myself up, looking around. Every way I looked there were trees, and faint sunlight was shining through the canopy.
Daniel appeared out of nowhere, scaring me. He was pacing, muttering to himself. Pulling myself off the ground, grabbed my backpack. Why are we... then it hit me. We were lost, and it was my fault. Great, I got us in to this mess so I have to get us out.
Going over to Daniel, I stopped him. "Quit pacing, you're making me anxious." I told him. Quietly apologizing, he leaned against a tree and shut his eyes. There were dark circles under his eye and he looked exhausted. "Did you sleep?" I asked. He shook his head. "Sleep."
"I can't. There's to much on my mind." Daniel said. "There are more important things than sleep. We need to get out of here." Working himself up he began to pace again, pulling at his head. Under his breath he was saying ways to get out, along with some cursing.
His pacing was beginning to annoy me. The crunching of the leaves and his talking was getting repetitive and annoying. Finally, I snapped. "Just stop and shut up!" I shouted. He stopped, looking at me in shock. "Sorry, I didn't mean to shout." I said quietly, looking at the ground. "Can you just calm down, okay? You're driving me crazy."
"Well I'm sorry I' m the one who wants to get out." he said to me, rather rudely.
"You don't think I want to get out? I need to get out! I have family that cares about me to see." I said hotly. Daniel looked at me angrily, and said,
"You don't think my family cares? Just because my family is rich and my parents are gone a lot doesn't mean that they don't care." I felt bad but said nothing. "I'm leaving. Follow if you want, it's your choice."

I decided to follow Daniel, even though he didn't know where to go either. We hiked around the woods for a few hours before we stopped. Our stomachs rumbled and we realized we didn't have anything to eat. Stopping by a tree with a split, we dropped our backpacks and sat down
"This is your fault." I said. "You should have left me alone."
"My fault?" Daniel asked. "You decided to run off like a kid and I followed to make sure you didn't get hurt. If it's anyone's fault it's yours." I would have argued but he was right. If I wouldn't have run off like a little kid we wouldn't be in this situation. Making a noise of satisfaction, Daniel shifted so he was slightly leaning against me. Soon I heard light snores and I knew he had fallen asleep.
Looking down to my left, Daniel sat there with his mouth slightly open. Drool was starting to drip down his chin, but instead of taking a picture I just laughed and wiped it away. I'm not sure why I did it, but it felt right. For a long time he stayed in one spot, and I wanted to wake him up but I let him sleep.
I didn't keep track of time, but I knew a few hours had passed. Lightly shaking Daniel, I whispered, "Wake up." in his ear. He stirred, his eyes slowly opening. With a loud yawn, Daniel stretched. His yawn was cute. For a few more minutes Daniel sat there, leaning against me.
"I'm... I'm sorry." Daniel sat quietly. "I shouldn't have done that. I feel so bad. I really d-" Silencing his rambling, I pressed my lips to his. Immediately he stopped and melted in to the kiss. We pulled apart and rested our foreheads together.
"I've wanted to do that again." I said.
"Me too." Daniel replied.

We hiked through the woods for a while, stumbling over raised roots and branches. In the distance I could see something like a trail. Picking up pace, I got happier and happier as we reached it. It looked like a beaten path, but anything is good right now.
"I'm tired." Daniel said, stopping. Light was shining though the canopy, lighting up Daniel's face. He squinted, placing his hand above his brows. Sighing, he said, "We're never gonna find our way out." Just as he said that, I heard a kids laugh. Hearing too, Daniel looked at me, white as a ghost. The question in the air was obvious: where was that coming from?
Cautiously we advanced. The sound got louder, the sun brighter. An opening was ahead and my heart beat quickened. A way out. I started to run, but it never seemed to get closer. As I ran faster it went farther away. Finally I stumbled out to find a play ground with one kid, swinging and laughing. She looked at me with crazy eyes and started to laugh creepily.
I started to back up but tripped on a root, falling on my butt. The girl started to walk towards me and I scooted back. No matter how fast I moved, the girl was faster. I was able to stand up and I started to run, but she appeared in front of me. "You can't run Joey." she said in a deep, demonic voice. "You're destined to join me in hell."
"No." I choked out. "You can't take me." Turning around I began to run but the ground beneath me disappeared. As I fell I heard my name being called out. The hole never seemed to end, just a black abyss. Sunlight began to fade until I couldn't see anything. This can't be real, I thought to myself.
I was right.
My eyes opened and I was against the tree, Daniel shaking me. He was saying my name, looking worriedly at me. He sighed in relief seeing me awake and sat next to me again. Looking around I saw we were still deep in the woods.
"Thank God you're awake." Daniel said. "You were thrashing around and making weird noises. I thought you were having a seizure or something."
"So..." I said quietly, "I was dreaming?"
"Yeah." Daniel said. Looking down at my hands I fiddled with them, thinking about everything I had dreamed. The kiss wasn't real. And that was heart breaking. I felt tears well up in my eyes but I wiped them away. "Why? What did you dream?"
"Oh, nothing." I said. It was obvious Daniel didn't believe me but he dropped it.
We're still stuck. Great.
