《3》Déjà vu

Jax's POV

Wednesday
I walked out of my class...again. I just had to. With her in my class it was even harder to try to concentrate. I mean who does she think she is? Just waltzing out of my life- destroying everything in the process - and then just happily skipping back in like nothing happened? Well, a lot happened. And it's her fault. I can't believe I ever thought letting her in was a good idea.

"I'm always here for you Jax. I'll always be here... You know you that right?

I smiled, giving her hand a light squeeze.

"I know."

Bullshit.

"JAX WATCH OUT THERE'S A BIRD" I stood up, slightly panicked, as I heard someone shout, suddenly pulling me out of my somewhat bittersweet thoughts.

"WHERE?" I yelled as I got up and looked around.

"Oh Birdman, no matter how many girls you sleep with you're always going to be Birdman." I heard Andi's annoying voice say as I calmed down. I flinched and rolled my eyes. Why does she have to bring that up every time we talk?

"What do you want?"

"I don't want anything. Mrs.Webster sent me to tell you to go back to class."

"Tell her I'm not going back." I can't, not while she's there.

"Why? Did little Jaxy Waxy get scared 'cause his Em is back?" She teased me and pinched my cheeks. I groaned, why can she never leave out Emma?

"STOP. Andi, you don't know anything so stop pretending like you do."

She was about to say something when my phone beeped. I looked down and saw that it was my father.

Sir

Jaxson, be at the house in 5 minutes. We need to talk.

I internally groaned and looked back up at Andi who was waiting for me to say something.

"It's my father. I need to go. Tell Mrs. Webster there was a family emergency." I told her even though I knew she was probably just going to rat me out. I grabbed my backpack and started going down the bleachers when Andi started talking again.

"What does your dad need now? Are you going to try to steal Emma's powers? Again?" Ouch. "Or maybe this time you're going to take Mr.Alonso as randsom. Or is your mom calling to see if her little boy is safe and isn't getting an STD from all the girls at sch-"

"STOP!" I shouted and I saw Andi freeze."You can hate me and talk about me all you want, but dont you DARE bring my mother into this. You got that Cruz?" I said, each time getting closer to her face, menacingly. She nodded, trying not to look scared. "Good."

I turned and jogged to the front of the school looking for my motorcycle when I remembered... I had left it at home since i had walked to school this morning. Ok, I can just teleport. I looked up at the sky only to see a blob of gray completely overtaking the blue that was there only a few minutes ago.

I guess I'll have to walk. I thought, remembering how dangerous it can be using magic during storms.

I started walking and looked down at the ground a few brownish circles were beginning to appear on the cement that I was walking on and I groaned. Just my luck. I began jogging towards my house as the rain got stronger.

Are you fucking kidding me? LIGHTNING TOO?!

I continued to run until I was about to reach my house. I was three houses away when I saw a tree branch flying towards a girl who was standing against a house looking completely mortified. My mind went into auto-pilot as I took off running towards her at full speed. I wrapped my arms around her and pushed her further towards the door of the house. After about a minute of me basically hugging her, I let go and looked around. The tree branch was all the way down the road and the wind wasn't as strong- though, if you weren't careful it could probably throw you around easily.

"Thanks." She said as she looked up at me with a soft smile.

"No problem." I replied with a smile trying to force it's way onto my mouth. "I'm Jax by the way."

"Alex."

"Well Alex, it was nice talking to you but it's a bit dangerous out here. You should probably go inside." I said, pointing at the house behind her. She nodded and waved goodbye.

"I'll see you around." She smiled and walked inside.

Man, I hope so.
