Astrea's POV

I took a deep breath before whisper-shouting, "Subaqueanus Respiratio!"

Instantly, I felt the change of the spell taking place. My lungs changed in shape, accustoming themselves to the underwater setting about to take place. I hollowed my cheeks as I felt all air disappearing from my body.

Going stiff, I simply threw myself over the board I had been standing on, and face planted into the water.

I thought about Christmas with Cedric, before my albino wings took place, a silver dip to them. I did not miss everyone's gasp as I dramatically emerged from the water, only to spot where my boyfriend was and follow him.

I saw him, about 40 feet away from me, and swimming lower into the water at a reasonable speed.

My wings flapped quickly, and I threw myself efficiently into the water once I was over my target.

"I was beginning to wonder what ever occurred with you." Cedric's altered voice said, as he swam rhythmically against the currents of the ocean.

I grinned at him before taking in the greatness surrounding me. The waters of the lake were calm, yet they whispered the stories of lives, hidden from the sun in a mirth of green.

"This lake is so much more beautiful on the inside than the outside." I breathed, looking around my surroundings. It was the truth; the lake was almost too creepy on the outside to even think about what could lie inside of it. I heard Ced make a sound of agreement as we kept a peaceful silence between us. We were so comfortable in each other's company that there was truly nothing that needed to be said during our moment in time.

If I felt this, I wondered what magnitude of connection was felt by Arvin or Aysu, or perhaps my other siblings who found themselves connected to waters such as these in more ways than one. The freshness was like breathing for the first time again, ironically away from the heavens, and I loved every second of it. My wings glided harmoniously through, like the flippers of merpeople, and I focused on my senses as Cedric went along with the task. Algae and fish were easily identified, though I knew what lurked in the beneath the layers of the lake was more mysterious and untouchable than many star crossed dreams.

The waters turned darker, the algae thicker, as we tried to pass through and I knew we would have a harder time keeping on, as we started charming our way through the dense forest of the waters.

I don't know how it happened, but the last thing I remember doing is telling Cedric to stand back before I felt cold, grey claws press against my waist, and a pair of green, unapologetic eyes swimming in front of me as I blacked out into nothing, my last thought being that of a boy with courage no lion could match.

{Buenas, my friends!
Hope you enjoyed that, as much as I enjoyed writing it.
Leave any comments/feedback here, unless their death threats 'cause frankly I do not enjoy those very much.
