Ch 2: "Team Members"

I sat down in the control room and stared out the windows as Allura did something on the controls and each of the paladins fiddled with something else. That was when suddenly a man with orange hair and a mustache walked up to me. He was twirling his mustache as he did so.

" I don't think I properly introduced myself yet to you. I'm Coran, the Princess's personal assistant and advisor. I also keep these crazy kids inline." He stated. He looked to be maybe in his late forties. I wasn't quite sure but he acted and spoke rambunctiously.

"Nice to meet you Coran." I replied and he smiled.

"Same to you as well Novaia. Make yourself at home." He said then was off to the princess's side. People hovered around her here. I stood up and my shoulder ached, but it was starting to feel better already. Keith and the little one Pidge all ready left the room. I heard Keith mumble something about a training deck on his way out.

Lance, Shiro, and Hunk remained with the Princess and Coran. They were all discussing something but I didn't feel it was my place to barge in. So, I turned towards the doorway and began to leave when a woman entered the room. She had long black hair and was wearing a black jacket and jeans. She also had a device in her hand.(Aka Voltrongirl my bestie)

She lifted the device and aimed it at Coran just before pulling the trigger! My eyes widened and a few of the others in the room looked startled. Everyone except for Shiro... He smiled. Coran froze in place like time stopped itself. She laughed.

"Freeze Ray, freezes an enemy for twenty seconds with no side effects. I tested it on myself first." She explained, then Coran fell to the floor. He stood up in a flurry.

"ALEX! DON'T GO SHOOTING IN THE CASTLE!!! For King Alphor's sake..." Coran exclaimed and startled us all by his sudden yelling. Then the princess started laughing hysterically.

"I need one of those for Lance!" She blurted while laughing. I began cracking up as well, but still more quiet than Allura, whose laugh was likely heard through the castle. Alex, the human, glanced at me.

"Hey! I need one for you!" Lance retorted. I shook my head.

"So you're that lost Altain girl hu? Picked you up on one of the scanners and couldn't believe what we saw." Alex commented about me. So something picked up my life signature? I guess that's why they saved me. The voltron team probably doesn't go around looking for a nearly extinct race all the time. "I'm Alex... I use the advance Altain tech to create new weapons. Its nice to meet you Novaia." She started, swinging her gun around willy nilly.

"Nice to meet you as well Alex..." I replied, slowly putting my hand up and pushing her gun away from me. I smiled a smile that probably looked foolish in her eyes. She laughed a slight laugh, then left from where I was sitting and made her way over to Shiro. He took her into his arms and smiled at her. I looked away in an instant, romance makes me uncomfortable.

I walked through the castle aimlessly and didn't really take to thought about where I was heading. I just wanted to get away from the control room. People aren't really my thing.

I got to a lower area towards what I'm thinking is the back of the castle, it looked like a storage room. There were a lot of miscellaneous items scattered about. I found a book or two... Even when I was young I liked to read. I was four when I was kidnapped by Zarkon and I had the reading level of an eight year old. I was always very proud of that.

When I was young Zarkon continued to let me read till I was thirteen. I tried to escape during one of the prisoner executions. He was really upset with me then and he took everything I had away...
