The second the door opened I could feel the anger emanating from him. Of course Andrea was probably still at the dinner because he wouldn’t get mad at me in front of her. “What the hell Zayn!” he growled.
“I’m sorry... but that’s not even the beginning.” I sighed taking another drag from my cigarette.
“What the fuck do you mean now?” He breathed.
“You might want to sit down-”
“No I’m just fine thank you.” He snapped.
“Don’t be mad at Skylar, she did everything that was best for us. But I helped Skylar run away. I knew where she was. When I said I was going to look for her I was actually visiting her.”
“What?” He breathed, pain filling his eyes.
“I told her I loved her and then we had sex... then she got pregnant...”
“What are you saying?” Tears filled his eyes, he knew but he didn’t want to admit it to himself.
“I’m the twins dad. She told you guys she didn’t know who the dad was because she didn’t want you guys to break up.” He took a deep breath.
“You saw how hurt we were, how lost, and you didn’t say anything! I thought we were best friends!” He cried.
“I know, and it was hard, but she was in even more pain. She never told me she was coming back though, she told me she was pregnant at the wedding.”
“Why didn’t you tell me?” He sniffed.
“Why didn’t you tell me she was married? Or that she was pregnant? Or that they were twins? I’m not the only person in this room with sins Harry.”
“I didn’t want to hurt her I knew you loved her.” He sniffed. “I just pictured if I was you and she was Andrea how I would feel. I was trying to protect you.”
“I don’t need protecting. What I need is to be a father to my kids.”
“What you think that after all this time... 5 years, you can just waltz in and take over? Skylar’s pregnant with Aiden’s baby and they really love each other. She’s not going to leave him for you.” Every word stung.
“You don’t know that.” I said coldly.
“You’re heads in the clouds Zayn, none of this will actually work out this isn’t a fucking fairy tale for god sakes.” It was quiet for a second. “After all in a fairy tale a best friend wouldn’t do what you did to me.”
“It wasn’t about you Harry it was about her.”
“I don’t care, after all we’ve been through it obviously didn’t mean shit to you.” He spat.
“That’s not true-”
“Fuck off. And she’ll never leave Aiden... Especially not for you.” With that, the crying Harry turned and left, leaving me to be devoured by guilt.
Skylar’s POV
Aiden tucked the kids into bed and joined me on the couch. “So... Zayn....” He started looking over at me. “What was that all about?”
“He wanted to meet the kids...” I breathed. “But that’s not all. He wants to tell them tomorrow that he’s their dad and he wants to get to know them.”
“Well at least they aren’t UnWanted.” Aiden sighed trying to think of the positive. “Maybe it’ll be good for the kids to know their real dad.”
