Chapter 8
Charlie's POV
Today in Biology I embarrassed Shawn, laughed my ass off at Shawn, and then dissected a squid with, you guessed it, Shawn. I swear that fate has it out for me. After school, I had a few thing to do before I went home. I finished everything up and went out to the parking lot. I walked to my spot, and had my head down looking for my keys. Ah, there they are. I looked up and Shawn was leaning against my truck? I was surprised but quickly recovered. "May I help you?" I asked. He pointed to the spot next to mine, where he parks his bike. There was his bike, with the tires slashed and a bunch of notes taped to it.
I pressed my hand to my mouth to stop the gasp. "Damn it! I'm sorry. I'll drive you to and from school until you can get new tires. This is my fault. Come on, help me get it in the bed." I hurriedly unlocked my truck and tossed my bag in. I grabbed the handlebars of his bike and he grabbed the back, and somehow, with a lot of grunting and shoving, we got the bike in there. We hopped into my truck, literally, because it's jacked up really high. We rode in silence for a little bit, then I looked over at him, "You do realize I have no clue where I'm going, right?" He rattled off the address of the apartment building right behind my house. Really fate, really?! "That apartment building is right behind my house, as in it's my backyard. Well, looks like I won't be doing too much extra driving around like I thought." I started to laugh, awkwardly.
I pulled into my driveway and parked. Shawn and I unloaded the bike and set it in the garage then we headed our separate ways. I thought I had homework to do, but I had finished it at school. I called up the boys and told them to meet me at the skate park. Instead of taking the truck, I just skated down there, it was only about half a mile anyways.
The boys and I spent the rest of the day at the park and when it started to get dark the guys drove me home, and we parted ways. Tomorrow I was going to bring Shawn under my protection so he wouldn't get bullied anymore.
Next Day~
Shawn was waiting in the driveway for me the next morning, and we hopped into my truck and headed off the school. I told him to stay with me and then I went to find my boys. I told them what I was going to do and we headed to the courtyard. The courtyard is where everyone hangs out before and after school. I hopped up on one of the tables and Gage put his fingers to his mouth and whistled. An eerie silence settled over the crowd as they turned around and looked at me. I took a deep breathe and began speaking loudly.
"Yesterday, Jason here wanted to make a fool out of the new guy, Shawn, and did so successfully. Some of you may think Shawn is gay because of this prank. Shawn is not gay and he did not appreciate you guys messing with his motorcycle. Shawn is now one of my guys and if you have a problem with him, man up and tell him or you will have to deal with little ole me." I finished with a smirk and jumped off the table. The bell rang and everyone started to file inside murmuring about what just happened. Shawn looked at me, "You didn't have to do that, you know." I shook my head, "I know but this was my fault and that was my way of fixing it." And with that I walked off into school and to my locker.
