I was sitting on my bed, reading Dad's journal while Dean was watching something on TV on the other bed. "What are you watching?"
"Hospital show. Dr. Sexy, MD. I think it's based on a book."
"When did you hit menopause?" Sam asks.
"It's called channel surfing." Dean retorts and turns off the TV. "You ready?"
"Are you?" Sam asks. Dean grabs his keys, pecks my forehead before walking out.
"I think that's a yes." I tease Sam.
"Thanks, Ash." Sam says sarcastically.
"You're welcome." I reply, just as sarcastically. He also pecks my forehead. "Bye, Sam."
"See you later, Ash." Sam walks out the door. My brothers are going through phases. So, now, they're being even more sweet. So much, so, that it is giving me toothache. I repeat. Toothache. I'm gonna go out on a food run, I'm hungry. Let's see what's around the area. Krispy Kreme is 2 miles away but it's Krispy Kreme. I grab my jacket, my purse and the Demon-killing knife before setting off. I make it to Krispy Kreme in no time and it wasn't busy either!
"Hey." I greet as I walk to the counter. "Can I get 1 Chocolate Iced Raspberry filled donut, 1 powdered strawberry filled, 1 glazed cinnamon, 1 glazed lemon filled, 1 chocolate iced glazed with sprinkles, 1 glazed raspberry filled, 1 cinnamon apple filled, 1 cinnamon twist and 1 dulce de leche. Along with 1 onion bagel please?"
"That's $13, please." I hand over $15 and she gives me $2 change. I thank her and she hands me my donuts. Thanking her again, I leave. I can have the dulce de leche, cinnamon apple filled, glazed lemon filled and the onion bagel. The rest is up for grabs.
I was about a 1/4 of a mile out when I get a call from Dean. "Hello." I answer, my mouth full of a cinnamon apple filled donut. It was too tempting not to have.
"Ash, where the hell are you?" Dean questions and I roll my eyes.
"Walking back to the motel." I answer, vaguely.
"Where did you go?"
"Donuts." I reply, simply.
"Dammit, Ash. Can you leave a note next time? So, I'm not worrying what's happened to you." I feel a wave of guilt wash over me and I grimace.
"Sorry, Dean." I apologise.
"It's okay." He pauses for a moment. "There better be donuts for me."
"Of course. I have a variety in here." I could here Dean practically drooling on the other side. "I'm gonna hang up now, I can see the motel. See you in a sec." I hang up and cross the road to the motel, and knock loudly on the door. Dean opens it and lets me in. I place the doughnuts on the table and sit where the laptop was. "'Local man killed in bear attack'?" I question Dean in confusion as Sam comes in.
"Hey." Sam greets.
"Find anything?" Dean asks.
"Well, uh, I saw the house." Sam starts.
"And?" Dean prompts.
"And there is a giant eight-foot-wide hole where the front door used to be. Almost, like, uh-"
"A Hulk-sized hole." Dean finishes.
"What's the Hulk got to do with the case?" I question with a frown as Sam asks, "What do you got?"
"Bill Randolph's, the victim, wife saw the hulk murder him." I nod slowly as he explains. "Well, it turns out that Bill Randolph had quite the temper. He's got two counts of spousal battery, bar brawls, and court-ordered anger management sessions. You might say you wouldn't like him when he's angry."
