"I knew this was a bad idea." I mutter. "All I wanted to do was go on one case before graduation which is a week away and we somehow had to fuck up. Drive faster, Dean!"
"I can't!" He exclaims. "Are you two okay?"
"Yeah, we're freakin' amazing!" I answer, sarcastically.
"You ever seen that many?" Dean asks.
"No." Sam replies. "No way, not in one place."
"What the hell?" Dean questions and breaks as there is demons with fire blocking our way. "Damn it!" Dean begins to reverse but the demons smash the windows. I'm suddenly being strangled by a woman but something starts being sprayed over them and they screech in pain. Holy water. An exorcism starts being sounded over a megaphone. Not one I'm familiar with at that. The demons leave the bodies who collapse to the ground. "Well that's something you don't see every day."
"You three alright?" The guy asks as we get out the car.
"Peachy." Dean answers.
"Be careful." The guy warns. "It's...dangerous around here."
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, wait." Dean demands.
"No need to thank us." The guy responds.
"No, hold up a sec! Who are you?" Dean questions.
"We're the Sacrament Lutheran Militia." The guy returns.
"I'm sorry-the what?" Dean asks in confusion.
"I hate to tell you this, but those were demons and this is the Apocalypse. So...buckle up." He states. I roll my eyes.
"We know it's the Apocalypse." I retort.
"Looks like we're in the same line of business." Sam comments.
"And among colleagues." Dean affirms. "That's a police-issued shotgun. That truck is, uh...inspired. Where'd you guys pick up all this crap?"
"You know you pick things up along the way." One of the other guys says.
"Guys, come on." Dean reasons. "The whole corner of the state is nuts with demon omens. We just want to help. That's all."
"We're on the same team here." Sam adds on. "Just talk to us."
"Follow us." The 1st guy responds after a moment and we get into the Impala, and follow them.
~Later~
I lay in bed, thinking about Blue Earth, Minnesota while my brothers were hunting Demons with the locals. These people being chosen as God's warriors? God doesn't care and the Angels certainly wouldn't care about a small town in the middle of Minnesota. Then that Leah is suspicious as hell. Just the way she acts is a little too perfect.
By the time it was 10pm, Sam had returned. Dean had been back for hours after his talk with Leah. "Where you been?"
"Drinkin'." Sam slurs.
"You rebel." I joke.
"I'd have more, um, but it was curfew." Sam explains.
"Right." Dean replies.
"You hear they shut down the cell towers?" Sam asks.
"No." Dean answers. "That's, uh, news to me."
"Yeah." Sam confirms. "No cable, internet. Total cut off from the "corruption of the outside world"."
"Huh." Dean comments.
