Chapter 5: Trouble in paradise?

CARTER'S P.O.V

"Hey man. What's the update?" Parker asked on the other line.

"Its going well man. She doesn't suspect a thing. That best friend of hers is making this shit way too easy."

"Don't forget man. This has to go perfectly. You sure nobodies seen you anywhere suspicious?"

"I'm 100% sure man. I got this."

(Little did Carter know Alexis saw him that one night in the alley way talking to Parker.)

"Just know. If you f*** this up, they might come after you."

"I know. But later man. I'm supposed to hang out with Stella again. She wants to go to the beach"

"Damn. Have fun my brother" He said laughing.

"Ha-ha very funny" My voice dripped with sarcasm.

I bet you're wondering as to what in the hell I'm talking and what's going to happen with Stella so let me explain.

Parker's like a brother to me. We've been through a lot of shit. But nothing we've ever done matches up to what was about to happen. Apparently not too long ago, he found something out about Stella that didn't sit too well with him so he wants me to take care of her. So me hanging out with her constantly is just me gaining her trust and "love" so she doesn't grow suspicious of anything.

I know you're still confused, so let me fill you in as to why Parker is insisting(and when i say insisting i mean he pretty much demanded) we "take care" of Stella.

Parker's dad worked for this huge company. They were a major corporation. His job was going fairly well, and he was making a nice amount of money. Their family was happy. That was until Stella's dad came along. Her dad came and somehow stole Parker's dad's job away from him. He was devastated. He had that job for so long, he didn't know what to do when he was fired. He honestly built his life a round that job. He went into a state of depression. A couple months later, he ended up killing himself. Their family ultimately fell apart.

Parker has never been the same ever since.

Ever since his dad died, he vowed to get back at Stella's dad. But he never got the chance too. So when Stella came to our school, he found a new target. He figured it'd hit her father where it hurt if something was to happen to his daughter.

But since Parker has such a bad record, he couldn't do this plan by himself. So he asked for my help. Since Parker is like family, I, of course agreed.

PRESENT

When Stella and I arrived at the beach, she set up the blanket and picnic, she ran to the water.

She let out a slight squeal because apparently the water was cold.

"Come on Carter! Get in with me!" She giggled like a school girl.

Rolling my eyes, I got in the water with her. I then remembered Parker saying I had to make it believable. So I did.

For the next couple hours, I picked her up, did what couples do at the beach I guess. The look on her face showed she was having a lot of fun. It was shame that this was an act. When we got out the water, we sat on the blanket, ate and talked. She told me about her family and how her mom and dad got divorced when she was 13. You know all the personal stuff.

When we left the beach, I dropped her home. Saying goodbye, I watched her walk into her house and then drove off.

To tie everything together, I sent her a text.

"You looked great today. Your body looks amazing in that bathing suit by the way ;)"

When I got home, I showered and then called Parker.

"Hey man. We're all good."

"Good to hear. Just for an update, we will be initiating the plan soon. I need you to plan something so she won't know a thing. And make sure that best friend of hers stays away. We can't have her fucking anything up. This HAS to go perfectly."

"Understood. But man, I gotta go. That beach lowkey tired me out."

"Aight. Peace."

Hanging up, I layed down and as I drifted off to sleep, I tried thinking of what to plan so everything was ensured to go perfectly.

A few hours later, I was woken up by my phone ringing.

It was Alexis. Ignoring the call, I put my phone back down and went to get something to eat.

After eating, I decided to watch Saw.

When the movie was done, I saw it was around 8 p.m.

Grabbing my phone and keys, I decided to drive to Parker's house.

But when I got to his house, I saw something completely strange. I swear I saw Alexis hanging around the fence.

Getting out the car, I got closer. I was right. It was Alexis and she seemed to be snooping.

"Alexis?! What the hell are you doing here?!" I whisper yelled.

"Maybe I should ask what you're doing here.. What the hell is your plan? I've seen you hanging around those alley places. Tell me!"

"Alexis. Get the hell out of here before you get killed! You can't be around here."

"Well, I'm not leaving until you tell me what's going on."

"Get..The..Fuck..Out..Of..Here.. NOW" I yelled.

With the look of fear on her face, she ran.

Getting myself together, I walked up to Parker's house and rang the bell.

You see, I was just going to his house to chill, but now, we needed to talk business.

"Yo Parker, I just saw Alexis spying by that fence outside. I think she's onto us.."

"How did she even find out where I live? This can be really bad. It will... Get really bad." He spoke with worry in his voice.

"I know man. I don't know how she even found me. She was probably sticking her nose in everyone business like always"

"She better not come back around here. Or she'll get hurt. Bad."

"I know. I told her to not come back around here. She seemed pretty scared.."

"She better not.."

"She wont. But I'll catch you later man. I should get home."

"Aight. Later."

When I left, I made sure that Alexis didn't come back.

As I drove home, I began to become suspicious. What the hell was Alexis doing here?

God, I hope she didn't know anything.

I wouldn't want to have to hurt them both...
