Chapter 16: Visiting Old Times

I was right when I said it was going to be a good day. Since it was the end of the school year, we found out whether or not we passed our exams. Not only did I pass them, I aced them. Another bonus was that I was offered multiple scholarships. When it came to the end of the day, I was walking out of the school and ended up bumping into Anilah.

Anilah was also one of my closest friends. Anilah, Alexis and I would always hang out when we were younger and even though we didnt hang as much when we got to High school, we still were close. And then Alexis died. Me and Anilah lost contact. And it wasn't just her I lost contact with. I lost contact with everyone.

"Sorry! I didn't see you ther-," I started until i noticed who it was. "Hey Anilah! Sorry about that there."

"Omg! Hey Stella! Long time no talk! How have you been?"

"I've been good. How are you?"

"Same same. Hanging in there. We should hang out later we haven't really talked since you know.."

"Yeah. We definitely should. Meet me at the mall at 5?"

"Sounds great! See you then!" We hugged each other quickly and made our separate ways.

When I got home, I checked to see if my dad was home. He wasn't, so I texted him to let him know I was home and that I'd be going out soon.

"Hey honey. I'll be working late so I might not be there when you get home so text me to let me know your safe and if you need me I'll be there in minutes. I love you! Have fun:)"

"I love you too dad and I definitely will.<3"

After texting my dad, I saw it was 4 so I showered and got dressed. I decided on a white long sleeve crop top and black ripped jeans. I threw on sneakers, grabbed my bag and headed out the door. My dad took the car so I had to take the bus. I texted Anilah I was on my way and soon I was there. When I saw her, I smiled and gave her a hug.

"You ready to take over the mall?"

"Oh definitely." Anilah smiled.

When we got into the mall, we walked into a store called "Sugar and Spice" and they had the most beautiful dresses ever. After looking around I heard Anilah squeal and then hold up a dress. It was beautiful. It was a hi-low burgundy dress that had lace running down the back.

"You have to try this on Stella!"

She was right. I did have too. I went into the dressing room and tried it on. And once I did, I fell in love. It hugged my body perfectly and I loved the way it flowed. I walked out of the dressing room and its like Anilah saw a princess.

"You look beautiful Stella!" She said breathlessly. "You have to get it for homecoming!"

Crap. Homecoming was in a couple months. I had completely forgotten about finding a dress. But now, I'd found the perfect dress.

"I will. But now let's find you a dress."

After searching for 10 minutes I found this black dress that had a slit running down the leg and it was a low cut.

"You'd look so beautiful in this Anilah."

Her eyes lit up and I knew she loved it. After paying for our dresses and making sure you couldn't see what they were in case there were kids from school, we went to find food. We decided on this Japanese resteraunt that was on the other side of the mall. Right before we walked into the resteraunt, there was Audrey and her little minions.

"Well looky here. I see you've found some more minions to follow you around to make it seem like you have friends. You know Audrey, just because they hang out with you, doesn't meant they're your friends and I'm pretty sure they don't know who you are to decided whether or not they should even be your "friends."

"Ooo, that hurt," Audrey said sarcastically. "I see you found someone to replace Alexis. I'm sure she wouldn't be happy you did and with a pathetic excuse for a girl too." She said looking Anilah up and down.

"I advise you watch your fucking mouth," I said stepping up to Audrey. "You should be the last to talk about a pathetic excuse for a girl given the fact that you tried killing yourself because nobody likes you."

And with that I brushed past her and Anilah and I went to get our food. We sat down and ignoring what just happened, we talked and got caught up. After we finished eating, we trashed what we didn't eat and made our way home. Anilah had her car so she offered to drop me home. When we got into the car, she looked at me.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"You're not really using me as an replacement for Alexis right?"

"N-no! Of course not. Look, nobody could replace Alexis and you know that. You were friends with her too. When we bumped into each other today, I thought it'd be good to catch up because we were friends before. Good ones at that. And I want to get back to that. Trust me, you're nobodies replacement."

"Okay good." She smiled and soon we were on our way home.

Once Anilah pulled up to my house, I asked if she wanted to come in for a while.

"Nah that's okay. Mom wants me home. But we should do this again. It was fun."

"Yeah, it was. Bye Anilah." I hugged her and got out the car. Waving one more time, I unlocked my door and walked in.

"Dad? Are you home?"

No answer. I looked at my phone and saw it 10:45 p.m.

Sighing, I sat on my couch and watched TV. It wasn't much later that I ended up dozing off. It was around 12 when I felt my hair being pushed out of my face.

"Dad?" I asked groggily, rubbing my eyes.

"That's flattering but I'm not your dad. Princess."

Jolting up almost immediately, I saw it was parker.

"W-what are you d-doing here? Get out!"

"Is that anyway to talk a guest?" He chuckled.

"You are not a guest. You have to be invited in order to be a guest. You're just an intruder."

"Now now princess that's no way to talk me. So I suggest you start being nicer." His chuckle quickly turning into a scowl.

"Or what?" I crossed my arms and glared at him.

"Or," he said getting closer to me. "You're going to experience something you dont want too. Again."

"Get.Out.Now!" I screamed his face kicking him in the stomach as well.

Once he doubled over in pain, I took that as my opportunity to escape. I ran up to my room and locked the door.

Shakily taking out my phone, I called my dad.

"Hey Stella. What's up honey. I'm on my way home right now."

"Please hurry dad." at this point I was crying.

"What's wrong ?"

"Just please-,"

"Let me in!" Parker screamed banging on the door.

"Just please hurry dad. Please."

"Who was that? Okay honey I'm pulling up right now."

Parker continued banging on the door and if My dad didnt show up, he would've gotten in.

"Who the fuck are you? Get the hell out of my house!" I heard my dad yell.

"Mind your business old man." Parker said to my dad.

After that all I heard were punches thrown and then someone falling on the floor.

"Dad?" I called out.

"Yeah honey. Its me. Come open the door."

I shakily got off my bed and saw parker laying on the floor and looked at my dad.

Without another word, I crashed into my dad's arms and just cried.
