After spending at least two hours at the park, I finally made my way home. Getting home and looking at my phone for the first time after 2 hours, I had a bunch of missed calls from Alexis. Definitely not in the mood to talk to her, I threw my phone onto my bed, and I hopped into the shower.

20 minutes later...

When I got back into my room, I heard my phone ringing. Picking it up, I expected to see Alexis' name across the screen. But it wasn't. It was an unknown number. I stood there debating whether to answer it or not. After about the third or fourth of ring, I decided to answer.

" Hello?"

"C-carter?" I answered in complete shock.

"Yeah.. Hey Stella."

"Uhhh, hi?"

I was confused. Why was he calling me? I bet it was to tell me that I weird him out, and that he wants me to leave him alone forever. But that didn't make sense. He wouldn't go through that trouble to tell me off. W-would he?

"Stella? You still there?"

Crap. I was talking to myself.

Again.

"Huh? O-oh yeah. What's up?" Trying to play it off.

"Nothing really. I just wanted to check up on you. You rushed out of the cafeteria earlier."

"Oh... Yeah. Sorry about that..Hey, how'd you get my number?" I said trying to change the subject.

"I asked Alexis for it when you rushed out."

"Why?"

"Because... Despite the fact that you weirded me out today, I think you're a pretty cool girl."

"Really? Thanks." I said smiling. "Can I be honest with you?"

"Yeah, of course."

"I thought you were annoyed because Alexis called us lovebirds. I assumed it was because I've been a complete mess around you. I didn't think you'd want to talk to a girl like me". I blurted out.

"I see what you're saying. But, I don't care about that. I can tell you have anxiety. I know you can't help it.. But you don't have to be nervous around me." He said in comfort.

Was this really happening? I was talking to him. I was really doing this. There was no pressure. No nothing..

"That's really sweet carter. Thank you for that." I said with a smile on my face.

"Now I have a question for you stella.."

"What is it?"

"Do you wanna hang out tomorrow after school?

Hold on.. Carter Mitchell wants to hang out with me?

"Yeah sure. That'd be cool.."

"Cool. But hey, I'll see you tomorrow."

"Bye." I said smiling as I hung up.
