The girl sat straight up, the air pushing into her lungs like a freight train. She looked down at her arm, attempting to move it, to feel something, but failing. Her body felt like it had been sucked into an abyss. She closed her ocean colored eyes that faded into a dark primary blue very tightly before reopening them. She breathed in quickly, closing them again to hide the shimmering light from her retinas.
Her eyes darted to the door as the knob slowly twisted, her breathing beginning to heavy as she searched for a way out. Maybe Poseidon was right about these humans. She had experienced nothing but the excruciating pain of failure as soon as she had arrived. The door swung open, revealing a cool breeze and muffle voices in from the outside. The man had on a thick white coat and round glasses, his dark curls cascading around his ears. He shut the door, seemingly cautiously walking closer to the girl, who seemed quite flustered.
"Hello, I'm Dr. Banner. It looks like you'll be alright. You've suffered from minor injuries and some bruises, so you should be alright by tomorrow. Unfortunately, we have had no explanation as to how you don't know where you are. There are no signs of concussion and your brain waves seem to be intact." He said, glancing up at her.
"Your vitals are perfectly fine, but my superiors suggest that you stay one day here, just to monitor you if anything goes south." He finished with a small smile, looking up from his clipboard.
"Do you have any family we can call, to inform them of your whereabouts, miss?" he politely asked, his eyebrows high into his hairline as he awaited an answer.
However, she sat there silently before placing a hand over her head, her eyes squinting due to the harsh light in her eyes.
By now, Dr. Banner had become quite uncomfortable due to her silence. He awkwardly purses his lips. "Um... Well, if I may ask, what's your name? The NYPD are trying to contact any family or friends that you may have. Do they even know that you're alive?"
She shook her head, looking at the rain that poured harder each millisecond that she sat there. Dr. Banner was highly intrigued by her silent attitude, yet didn't question it.
"Well, if you need anything, just let us know." He mumbled before leaving the girl in her silent solitude.
