The child's laugh echoed the castles walls as she was thrown in the air by her loving father. Poseidon smiled at his beautiful daughter. Which brought slight tears to his eyes as the sound of her laugh reminded him of the woman he once loved.

"Father I have a question" the girl beamed grabbing onto the man's hand

"Yes Ailanna" his eyes falling onto the curious girl he loved dearly

"You said once that you've seen many worlds what's it like? Above the sea?" She beamed with her giant blue eyes looking to the king for her answers.

His smile faded recalling his last visit to land. Poseidon stared ahead lost for words. Not knowing what to say to his little girl he froze.

"Father?" Ailanna mumbled.

"Ailanna above the sea is a very dangerous place that I forbid you to talk about do you understand?" The king said with a stern voice.

"But father"

"Ailanna" he said

"I forbid you from any contact with above the sea as I forbid anyone who lives in this castle the same as well"

The young girl pouted at her fathers wishes before nodding in agreement hoping one day he would answer all her questions.

5 years later

"Father" The brunette yelled 

The king turned with a smile to see his beautiful young girl.

"Ailanna where is all this excitement from" the man questioned with laughter catching the girl into his arms

"Father it's my 13th birthday"

"Yes I know that is why you should be in your room getting ready for the ball that is being thrown" he uttered setting the girl down

"But father I have a request for my birthday"

Sitting down at his throne gazing at the young girl, who grew more into her mother with each day. He sighed at the thought of his love wishing she would have chosen him and his family.

"Well what is your request" he mumbled

"Well I would love to be taken to land" she beamed

"You know taken above the sea and explore I read this interesting book on humans and the love they share-"

"Enough Ailanna I thought we already talked about this its forbidden to have any contact with above the sea how do you even know about humans?" Poseidon yelled

"I told you I read a book"

"Where did you get this book?" He questioned

"From one of the maids it helped with studying"

"What on earth could you possibly studying?" He questioned

The king stood looking down at his daughter who was filled with so many questions of the outside world. He sighed wanting to answer every one of them but simply couldn't.

"I swear Ailanna your curiosity will be the death of you" he mumbled placing a hand on her cheek

"I forbid you and the rest of this kingdom from any contact with humans and land you should know this by now this rule has been placed for good reasons"

"But father please" Ailanna begged with tears streaming down the her face

"No" his voice boomed causing the castle grounds to shake

"Father what's wrong"  Elizabeth called who looked to her younger sister

"Take Ailanna to her room and prepare her for the ball tonight Elizabeth"

"Yes Father come now Ailanna lets go" grabbing her sisters hand

"And that maid who gave you the book shall be punished as well"

"BUT FATHER" the young girl yelled

"Enough Ailanna lets go" Elizabeth said grabbing onto her sisters arm

Poseidon watched as Elizabeth guided Ailanna out the room. Crashing down on to his throne he sat with tear drops falling from his cheek.

"My love if only you were here you would know what to do" he mumbled
