A soft hum echoed the walls of her room. Ailanna waited for the scientist to return like he promised. The goddess continued playing with the hems of the gown the doctors had given her, as she sat and observed people walk past her room.
The brunette felt lonely not understanding what was happening around her and where she was. Alianna looked over by her window wondering what her sister might be doing at this hour. And how worried they would be she sighed knowing they never understood how she truly felt, not even Elizabeth her eldest sister who was considered the brightest.
Not noticing the door suddenly swung open. Ailanna was startled and began clenching her bed sheets before recognizing Dr Banners face she began to relax. He was one human she wished her father knew about and could see the kindness in Bruce's heart. But the blonde super solider also did appear in her mind and how nice he seemed.
"Good morning Alianna" he mumbled with a smile before sitting by her bedside with a notebook in hand
"I've brought someone with me she is a translator to help us communicate better" he continued motioning to the elderly women who sat next to him.
Bruce observed how Aliana's eyes filled with fear at the sight of someone new. He should have known Ailanna would react this way she probably never been above the ocean waters before.
"It's okay don't worry she is not here to hurt you" he said trying to calm the beautiful goddess down.
She nodded watching carefully as the elder women flashed a faint smiled. Revealing her wrinkles that came with old age.
Ailanna reached for her face touching her skin that was smooth and filled with youth. Ailanna had never seen someone old before. She had read in books that humans lived much shorter lives than gods. It never occurred to her that humans looks could change with age.
"So, let's start out with simple questions, shall we?"
Alianna nodded understanding very few of the words Bruce spoke. She still was excited to possibly learn more of the human world.
"Where do you live?" he questioned
She looked at him nervous to answer thinking back to what her father said about humans being dangerous. She fumbled forming the words to speak.
"The sea" she mumbled
Bruce looked to the elder women who had a look of concern hearing the brunettes answer.
"What did she say?" he questioned
"She said the sea" the women mumbled with a thick accident still staring at the girl with a confused look
Bruce nodded glancing back at the mysterious girl he flashed a faint smile.
"We discussed who your father was but what about your mother who is she?"
Alianna sat with tears forming into her blue eyes she shook her head at the question not knowing the answer. Ailanna was always curious about what her mother was like. She was told that she had inherit her mother's beauty and curiosity of the world.
"I don't know"
Noticing the tears running down her face Bruce looked down at his feet. Feeling guilty for asking the question.
"It's okay Alianna I'm sorry for asking" he mumbled
"Maybe we should pick up on this another day how about you get some rest" he said with a gentle smile on his face she nodded before laying down turning her back away.
Hearing the door close more tears began to dance down the beautiful goddess face.
