The scientist sat in his office, his eyes skimming the stacks of papers that stood tall on his desk and almost every piece of furniture in the room. He sighed in annoyance, not getting anywhere in his research. He pinched the bridge of his nose, inhaling a deep breath trying to calm himself.

He slowly threw his glasses on the desk, not caring that he knocked over a huge pile of books. Looking around the room, he searched for answers about the mysterious yet beautiful girl who seemed unreal in his eyes but unfortunately couldn't find them.

He finally took a stand, walking over towards the chair that was full of old books. With a huff, he picked up the old book he had brought back with him to his office. He sat back down by his desk, carefully reading the old myth that was read to him as a child.

"Ah, Dr. Banner," The Asgardian half-bellowed, walking into the room with a large stride.

"Thor, I needed to talk to you." Banner greeted, grabbing his glasses and putting them back onto his face.

"Yes, I heard that you needed me, is something wrong?" The God of Thunder questioned, looking for a place to sit only to see every chair was filled with piles of books. He awkwardly stood there, looking at Dr. Banner.

"I'm sorry, I've been busy doing some research," Banner sheepishly mumbled, noticing Thor's hesitance, moving the books onto the floor, granting space for Thor to take a seat.

"So, how is the girl Steve found this morning?" Thor asked, sitting down into the comfortable chair.

"She's fine, but still recovering from minor injuries. That's the thing, we seem to not be able to find anything on this girl." Banner said questioningly.

"So you want my help finding out who she is," Thor questioned, almost as a statement, as Banner shook his head yes.

"I'm sorry to bother, but I think only you may have the answers to my questions on finding out who she is, Thor." Banner said, reaching for the old hardback book that lie open on his desk.

The Asgardian sat in confusion as Dr. Banner turned the book to where he could see it.

"Have you ever heard the stories about the Greek gods, specifically Poseidon's daughters?" Banner asked hesitantly, and Thor perked up.

"Why yes, Father used to read about them to Loki and I as children, but as the story goes, Norse gods never liked Greek gods that much. The reason for it is unexplained, however people believe they were only a myth or fairytale, but they are very much real." The blonde uttered. Banner nodded.

"What do you know about Poseidon's daughters?" Banner questioned, sitting up straight in his chair.

"Poseidon had six daughters, considered to be as beautiful as Aphrodite herself and believed to have the most enchanting voices. Their songs could make any immortal or mortal fall in love, but they were said to be dangerous. After all, they were mermaids, luring men in with their beautiful voices. Any man who fell in love with them, soon faced death." Thor uttered, recalling the times his father use to read about them. The memory brought a small smile to his face.

"The youngest daughter was considered the most beautiful of them all, with the most enchanting voice. She was very different from her sisters or any of her kind. She never would hurt anyone. Nobody truly knows her story, some people believe she actually didn't exist, and only created her to be the savior of the story." Thor continued.

"So Poseidon really had six daughters, people just believed that the youngest one didn't exist, so they said he only had five?" Bruce questioned, leaning forward in his chair. Thor nodded.

"My father told me six. I would always ask about her story and what happened to her, but he told me he didn't know. No one knows." Thor said. Banner's eyebrows knotted together in thought.

"And what was her name?" Banner questioned. Thor smiled.

"Ailanna, one of the many beautiful daughters of the seas, one thought to be a daughter of civilization, as well." Thor breathed out, and the pieces seemed to click together inside of Banner's mind, and he let out a loud sigh.

"Ailanna," Banner repeated, smiling now that he had figured out her mystery. "Now I know who you are."
