Steve paced around the room as his mind wrapped firmly around the mysterious girl. He wanted answers on her and where she came from. Steve sat on his bed, staring off into space as he sat in a ponder. The familiar soft humming he heard before filled his ears again, which immensely relaxed his tense body.

He quickly stood from his bed side, his feet taking him quicker to her room. His hand twisted the door knob, and the goddess backed away into a corner of her room, startled by the soldier. Her ocean blue eyes watched him carefully as he realized what he had done with confusion.

"How did I?-" He began but couldn't form the words, his blue eyes searched for answers but failed. He purses his lips as he realized how scared she looked.

"You don't need to be scared of me, ma'am. I promise, I won't hurt you," He said with a gentle smile, noticing her body was shaking. He stepped closer towards the mysterious girl, but stopped quickly once she tried to get closer to the wall, away from him.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to startle you." Steve apologized, backing away with regret. "If you need anything, feel free to let me know." He awkwardly smiled, not knowing what else to say. He left the room, looking back to see the goddess lay back down in her bed, looking almost defeated and confused.

"Steve, you okay?" Natasha said as she stepped into pace with the super soldier.

"Always," He grumbled, causing Natasha to raise her eyebrows with a smirk.

"You know, ever since you've found that girl, you've been acting like you're carrying the world on your shoulders. What's with you?" She asked, attempting to place her hand on his shoulder but he shied away. Natasha pursed her lips.

"I'm fine, Nat." He said, not looking at her or even in her general direction.

"Whatever you say." She mumbled, leaving the solider to stand by himself in the middle of the beige corridor.

Meanwhile, Bruce Banner sat in his office, writing more notes down about the Goddess. He wanted to ask her more questions about herself, but didn't want to startle the her. He knew how it felt to be alone at times, almost like the whole world is against you.

"Dr. Banner," Thor greeted as he stood in the doorframe. The studious scientist looked up from his research at the God of Thunder with a small smile.

"Thor," He greeted. "Come in, I needed to ask you more questions, please take a seat." He motioned to the chair in front of him, and the God of thunder sat down.

"Was I of any help?" Thor questioned, staring at the scientist, who looked up at him with a small smile.

"Uh, yes. A lot of help, actually. Thank you." Banner applauded, slowly pulling his glasses from his face.

"But I need you to keep this between us, all information is confidential on Ailanna." Bruce uttered, and Thor's eyebrows rose high into his hairline, but he didn't question it. Midgardians always confused him.

"Sure," the God of Thunder said awkwardly, beginning to stand from his chair before Bruce began to ask questions again.

"You said Ailanna is a daughter of a civilian?" Bruce questioned, reading over his notes just to make sure he didn't forget anything.

"Yes, that is what my father told me. Poseidon had fallen for a beautiful Midgardian, but no one knew her name." Thor mumbled with a shrug.

"Why?" Bruce asked, and Thor sighed, reaching over to the side of the counter for his cup of coffee, taking a short sip before sitting it back down on its marble top.

"Apparently the God of The Seas took her memories of him and their child, which was Ailanna." Thor said, motioning slowly. He hadn't slept in a while and it was slowing his words and his actions. Banner noticed this, but needed more answers.

"Where is she now?" The scientist questioned, slightly adjusting his glasses that sat in of the bridge of his nose.

"I'm not sure, when I was told this story, people didn't even know if the mother was still alive. The Gods and Goddesses of Olympus were very against the fact one of their own, Poseidon, had fallen for a human, but to him she was special in every aspect." Thor said.

"Do you know why Poseidon took her memories of Ailanna?" Banner asked, making a mental note that this would have to be his last question for the day.

"No, I don't. My father never told me, he said that nobody knew why." Thor uttered, his words forming into a large yawn. Banner chuckled as he closed his notebook, beginning to gather his things.

"Thank you, Thor, but I must be going. I have some matters to attend to," Bruce said. "And go get some sleep, you look exhausted." He finished, standing from his chair. Thor chuckled.

"No problem, Banner, and I will take that advice." Thor said as he exited the office, the anger-issued scientist following closely behind with a genuine smile on his face.

"Bye, Thor." Banner waved. Thor smiled back with a simple wave to signal his goodbyes as well.
