So what does this mean for me? I asked still utterly confused.
You’ll probably have to fight to the death. She said nonchalantly.
Sounds like fun. I replied earning a shocked expression. Just kidding.
You don’t have to fight to the death nobody really knows like I said legends, urban myths sort of. Just then the bell rang signaling that we could go home. I gave Libby a ride home and drove to mine. All day I have been feeling the constant pressure against my skull and I knew exactly what that meant. I pulled up to the house and shut the truck off and climbed out. As soon as I stepped out I caught a whiff of about four wolves and then I heard their snarling and snapping. I quickly walked around the back of the house and saw my dad surrounded by 4 huge wolves his wolf still towering over theirs. This is really normal I thought to myself as I got a running start and clothes lined the first wolf that launched at him pinning around and clipping another one making him fall flat on his belly. I quickly grabbed the third one and lifted him above my head, about to bring him down on my knee before I heard my dad’s voice.
“Avery drop him!” I thought for a second and then just dropped the mutt on the ground earning a loud thud and a grunt. I looked at the one wolf still standing and he looked scared shitless and I jumped at him and get this he just fell down. Just fell. Right there infront of me.
“In the house now!” My dad ordered. Oh shit, I’m in trouble. He came in behind me and slammed the door.
“WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT!” He asked throwing his hands up in the air.
“Me, having your back.” I replied. What’s the big deal?
“Avery those are some of the new pack fighters. They asked me to be the new trainer today! You would know that if you hadn’t been ignoring me and Austin all day.” He said rubbing his hand over his face.
“Sorry I thought that was the rest of the pack trying to initiate the pack bond.” I said sheepishly.
“They were I had to convince the Alpha that you were still getting use to mind link thing.” He replied.
“I don’t want them in my head.” I told him.
“I don’t either but these are the things we have to do now.” He said a bit calmer. So I just took out 4 new pack fighters, well 3 that other guy took his self out.
“Dad that guy just fell down.” I said finally breaking the silence.
“You scared the shit out of him! You scared all of them. You were about to break that one kids back!” He laughed.
“I was just gonna dislocate his spine.” I replied with a laugh.
“It doesn’t matter, these guys are young. They think I’m some old guy trying to show my dominance or something. You wanna help me out?” He asked with an eager smile.
“Sure I guess.” Walking towards the door leading to my room.
“Wait did you finish your homework?”
“Yes dad.” I said closing the door on him. I came back upstairs in my athletic tights and a sports bra and pulled my hair into a tighter pony tail just as Austin was walking in the house with groceries.
“I got more beer.” He said holding up the box.
“Sweet.” I said turning around and tying my shoe.
“Wait, you’re only 17 drinking isn’t normal. No beer for you.” He said tauntingly.
“I’ll kill you.” I said standing up and looking him in the eye and then breaking out laughing.
