“Avery I’m so sorry, I don’t know what happen my wolf jest shut me out.” Jackson apologized for the 30th time.
“Jackson its okay, I’m fine. Next time do me a favor next time sink your teeth into Todd instead of my thigh? I joked. It wasn’t too bad. He tore a few muscles and almost ripped my flesh completely away from the bone but I’d take this pain over being set on fire any day.
“Your dad is going to kill me.” He said dropping his head in his hands.
“Nah if anything he’ll kill me for taking my eyes off of you. The first thing I taught you is what I easily forgot.” I said with a smile as the doctor walked in.
“Avery Hunter?” He asked looking at a clip board.
“That’s me,” I said waving my hand.
“I’m Doctor James but you can call me Frank.” He said rolling his chair over to my side. I forgot the doctor was the Alpha’s brother.
“So let’s see the damage.” He said unwrapping the towel I had tightly cocooned my thigh in. His eyes then became the size of saucers.
“What did you do?” He asked his hands hovering over my leg as if he didn’t know where to start.
“I lost-” Jackson began but I cut him off.
“It was an accident.” I cut Jackson off. Honestly it doesn’t even hurt it’s already starting to heal. It took a lot of concentration on the ride over to the infirmary but somewhere in between Jackson’s shouting apologies and the guys freaking out I managed to start healing which is why I’m so beat.
“You’re in shock.” He said. Was he really the doctor because he looks just as scared as Jackson did?
“I promise you I’m not. I’m fully aware of what has happen and what is going on. I just really don’t like hospitals and I would like to get out of here as fast as possible.” I told him with an edge to my voice. With that he closed his now gapping mouth and stood up.
“You’re going to need stitches and I’m going to have to numb you’re leg for a bit.” He told me turning to the counter and pulling out supplies. “Son I’m gonna have to ask you to step out of the room.” He turned to Jackson. I gave him a nod and he left us to a tension filled silence.
“I’m gonna have to cut your pants off.” He said and I nodded then silence enveloped us again.
Frank sat down and rolled back over to me and began working on my leg.
“You have to forgive me, it’s just when I see injuries like this my wolf wants to jump out of my body and give young boys like him a lesson or two.” He said glancing up at me.
“I’m sorry I don’t know what you mean.” I stated a bit confused
“It was no accident sweet heart. I know who you are. You’re the young lady that has been training the new fighters. Brett is a friend of my sons. He is very fond of you and what you are showing them. And so is the young man that just left.”
“Jackson.” I stated.
“Yes, Jackson.” He paused and took a long look at me. “Watch out for that one.” He told me and continued to work on my leg that was now actively bleeding again.
“I’m sorry I’m still lost.” He then got up and left the room quickly and came back with an IV and I started to panic.
“What’s that for?” I asked my eyes darting around the room.
“You are losing a lot of blood, this is to slow the blood flow down until I can finish closing you up. God only knows what type of pain you are in.” He said his brow furrowing showing me that he was worried.
