Chapter 8
Damon’s POV
“Damon! Listen to me, you’re going to get those groceries,” Adam replied exasperated.
“I said no,” I huffed.
Early Saturday morning, and Adam and I have been arguing for an hour on who’s going to get those fucking groceries. He wants me to get them saying that he has some errands to catch. Errand my fucking ass! For all I knew, his errand involves no clothes and having fun in a girl’s house. Downright bullshit!
“You are going to get those groceries,” he repeated slowly.
“No, I am not.” My voice turned into deeper tone.
“Okay,” he backed down. “Guess I won’t let you drive my car for the next month!” he said in a sing-song voice.
He got out of the kitchen and started walking for the door. Oh no, no, no, no! I ran after him and tapped his shoulder to stop him. He turned around and looked at me expectantly.
“Okay,” I said.
“Okay what?” he asked, raising an eyebrow in amusement.
“I’m going to get those goddamn groceries,” I sighed in defeat. I really want to drive Adam’s car, driving in general. Adam knew that, and used it against me. True friend he is.
He smirked down at me.
“Okay,” he said throwing me the keys and money for the grocery.
What’s wrong with me? Ugh, I hate myself.
I sighed in and grabbed the list that Adam gave me. I went to my room and grabbed my wallet. Who knows, maybe I want to buy something. After tying my shoes, I went to the car and hopped inside, throwing daggers and muttering curses that doesn’t exist in the dictionary at Adam who was laughing his ass off at me. I left the driveway and drove to the nearest grocery store. What have I gotten myself into? I should be resting because this week was killing the hell out of me. Saturday’s and Sunday’s are very – and I mean very sacred to me, because those are the only days that I can rest my ass off for the whole day. Ugh, damn Adam and his fucking mustang, making me do shit I don’t like. Pfft.
I passed the street to Emily’s house, my instincts kicked in and I slowed down. I watched for any signs of her in the house, but the house was quiet so I continued driving. Where are her parents? I want to meet them. After a few meters of driving, my eyes widen because I saw Emily at the side walking away from her street. I quickly drove beside her and continued driving at a walking speed. I didn’t say anything. She looked at the driver of the car that was following beside her, and her eyes widen in shock. She noticed this and replaced it with a scowl and faced forward, quickening her pace. I was not the one to give up. I still followed her, stepping on the gas pedal so that I can follow her pace.
“Hey,” I glanced at her. She was still facing forward.
“What?” She didn’t even face me.
